Abstract

ThepresentstudypresentsadetailedreportofaprojectimplementedtosolvetheproblemthatmostofmystudentslearndeafEnglishinandoutofclass.Itishypothesizedthatimprovingtheirlisteningabilitywillbegreatlyincreasedbyvariederror-correctiontechniquesinthisrespect.Thishypothesisisverifiedbyafour-weekpracticeofvariederror-correctiontechniques.Amongthemethodsofscientificinvestigationusedareanalyticmethod,causeanalysis,questionnairesurveyandbrainstormingactivation.

IhavebeenteachingthestudentswhoareintheirsecondyearofXiaoBeihejuniorMiddleSchool,I’vefoundsomeproblemsinmyteaching.NowI’llfinishmystudyinLiaoyangTVuniversity.IhopeIcansolvetheproblemsthathavetroubledmethroughtheactionresearch.SothatIcanapplymyknowledgeandtheoryintopractice.

2.1Problem

TheproblemIhaveinmyteachingisthat“MystudentslearnEnglish,Theydon’tlikelisteningtothetapeinandoutofclass.Theydon’tknowhowtoimprovetheirlisteningability.

2.2Problemanalysis

Inmyteaching,theproblemwasreallyaseriousproblem.Mypreliminaryresearchconfirmedthattherewerefourreasonstotrainthestudents’listeningability.

First:

Somestudentsjustwanttoimprovetheirmarksinwriting,notlistening.

Second:

SomestudentsareweakinEnglish.Theyoftenfailtheexam,sotheylosttheirself-confidences.Theydon’tstudyEnglishatall.Sotheydon’ttraintheirlisteningability.

Third:

somestudentsareveryshy,Theyareafraidtomakemistakesinfrontofclass,Inordertonotloseface,Theykeepsilenceinandoutofclass.

Fourth:

Somestudentshavesomedifficultiesindoinglisteningpractice,Mostteachersinourschoolgiveclasswithouttape-recorder.Sotheycan’tdolisteningpracticewell.TheproblemhadbeentroubledmeforalongtimeandnowIwasdeterminedtofindasolutiontotheproblem,Inmystudy,Iused4methodsofanalysis.
