Ⅲ.TypesoftheJobInterview

Ajobinterviewisaprocessinwhichapotentialemployeeisevaluatedbyanemployerforprospectiveemploymentinafirm.Aftertheinterview,theinterviewerwilldeterminewhetheranapplicantissuitablefortheposition.

1.TelephoneScreeningInterview.Thisinterviewsavestheemployertimebyeliminatingcandidatesbasedonessentialcriteriasuchasparticularjobrequirements,educationorrequiredskills.

Itisagoodideatohaveaparticularplaceinyourhomeforyourdocuments.Keepyourresumeinviewandrefertoitasneeded.

2.In-personScreeningInterview.Thisinterviewisusedtoverifythecandidate’squalificationsforthepositionandtoestablishapreliminaryimpressionofthecandidate’sattitude,interestandprofessionalstyle.Aprofessionalscreenerfromtheemployer’sHumanResourcesDepartmentusuallyconductstheinterview.Atthisstage,thegoalistoselectthemostsuitablecandidateswhowillmeetthedecisionmakers.

5.PeerGroupInterview.Thisinterviewisanopportunitytomeetandtalkwithprospectivecoworkers.Justasinotherinterviews,thepeergroupwillbeevaluatingthecandidate,determininghowhewouldfitin.

6.GroupInterview.Sometimesreferredtoasapanelinterview,itusuallyconsistsofthreeormorepeople,allaskingquestions.Directyouranswertotheindividualaskingthequestion,buttrytomaintainsomeeyecontactwiththeothermembersofthegroup.Don’tforgettosmile.Itshowsconfidence.
