ThisStandarddefinesthePackagingRules,RequirementsandGuidelinesofMotorolaCommunicationsEnterprise.

ThesepackagingproceduresapplytoshipmentstoMotorolaInc.

Theyalsoapplytodrop-shipmentsbetweensuppliersofMotorolaandtooffshoresuppliershipments.

ThisStandardshallappearasaspecificationnoteonallpiecepartdrawings.Specificpackagingnotes,whenspecifiedontheMotoroladrawing,maytakeprecedenceoverthisStandard,however,onlyinareasofconflict.

5.GENERALPACKAGINGRULES

Allpiecepartsshallbepackedinaserviceable,conveyablecontainerofproperstrength.Containerstrengthshallbeindicatedintheboxcertificateidentificationthatisstampedonthecarton.（SeeSectionforstaticsensitivecomponents.）

Thesizeofthecontaineriscontingentonthepartsize.Themaximumoverallcontainersizelimitationis24”Lx24”Wx24”H,（61.0cmLx61.0cmWx61.0cmH）.Maximumcontainersizelimitationsarenotapplicableforpartslargerthan24”inanydirection.SuppliermustdiscusslargepartissueswithMotorolapriortoshipment,tosecureagreement.Theminimumoverallcontainersizelimitationis6”Lx6”Wx3”H,（15.2cmLx15.2cmWx7.6cmH）.Forallcontainers,anefficientproducttopackageratioshallbemaintainedbyusingtheminimumamountofpackagingnecessaryforfunctionalrequirements.Allnon-valueaddedpackagingmaterialsshallbeeliminated.

Theweightofacontainer,filledwithproduct,shallnotexceed50lbs.,（22.7kg.）.Outer-packmaterialshouldbecertifiedformaximumload（stressorcumulativeweight）duetostackingmultiplelayersofmaterialsonpallets.Forpackageswithproductweighinggreaterthan50lbs.（22.7kg）thecorrugatedcontainersshallbecertifiedfortheweightbeingshippedandbeclearlymarkedwithIconsymbologyrecommendingtwopersonsliftthecontaineroruseahandcart.

Forplasticpackaging,includingshrink-wrapandreusablecontainers,25%post-consumerrecycledcontentshallbeused.Therecyclingsymbol,includingtextdescribingtherecycledcontent,shallbedisplayedonpackaging.

Partsshallbepackedwithintheconveyablecorrugatedcontainertopreventdamageduringshipment.Dunnage（loosepackingmaterialusedtoprotectpartsfromloadshiftandin-transitdamage）shallcontainthehighestrecyclablecontentpossible,consistofreadilyrecyclableand/orreusablematerial,andbekepttotheMinimumamountnecessaryforfunctionalrequirements（SeeSectionforPreferableMaterialsList）.Whentissueorpaperwrapisused,theenclosedpartquantityshallbemarkedontheoutsideofthewrapping（forstaticsensitivecomponentsseesection.

Partssubjecttocontamination,suchasplatedparts,shallbepackedinplasticbagorequivalentwithinthecontainer.Silverplatedpartsshallbepackedwithacamphorcloth,（orequivalent）,topreventtarnishing.Allintermediatepackagingshouldbefreeofharmfulsubstancesthatwouldaffectsolderability.

Partsthataredifficulttostackshallhaveacardboardorcorrugatedpadbetweenlayers.

Containersshallnotbefilledabovethetopedgeofthecontainer.

Specialpackinginstructions,otherthanthoselistedhere,aretobespecifiedontheMotorolaComponentpartdrawing,purchaseorderand/orspecifiedatthetimeofquotation.

AnychangeinthepackagingmustbebroughttotheattentionofMotorolaforreviewpriortoitsuse.

AllMotorolaproductionmaterialmustcometotheReceivingDepartmentthroughavalidpurchaseorder.ItisnecessarythatallpurchaseorderscontainonlyoneMotorolapartnumber.

Allboxesrequirethefollowingtrackinginformationoneitherendofthecontainer（excludingthetopandbottom）:

Motorolapartnumber,purchaseordernumber,correctboxnumber（Example:

theboxforashipmentof5containersshallappearas:

box1of5,Box2of5,Box3of5,Box4of5,Box5of5）seeattachmentII.Motorolawillfurnishtrackinglabelsuponrequest.

WhenmorethanoneMotorolapartnumberispackedwithinanoutsidemastercarton,theinsideconveyablecartonsshallhavetheMotorolapartnumber,purchaseordernumber,andcorrectboxquantityonthem.Thequantityoftheentirecontentsshallbeindicatedontheoutsideofthemastercarton.

BarcodedlabelsarethepreferredmethodoflabelingtheorderforshipmentandmustadheretotheguidelinesdescribedinMotorola’sReceivingBarCodeSpecification12M13933A01.

Thepackinglistshallbeattachedtotheoutsideofthecontainer,（SeeAttachmentsIandII）,inanappropriateenvelopeandinalocationaccessibletoReceivingpersonnel,ortheincomingdocumentsshallbeinthepossessionofcarrierpersonneltofacilitateprocessingthematerialbyReceivingpersonnel.

Specialhandlinginstructions,suchas“FRAGILE”,“THISSIDEUP,”etc.,shallbeclearlyvisibleonthecontainer.HazardlabelingmustcomplywithTitle49codesofFederalandStateRegulationsoranequivalentNationalRegulationsorInternationalStandards.
