完形填空命题特色——逾越句子层次的现象
命题者在设计完形填空时常常采用点线面的方式。
点，即单个句子就能找出分析的关键点。
例如：
NeverhadIeatenspaghetti,and__40__ofthegrown-upshadenoughexperiencetobegoodatit.A.noneB.oneC.someD.neither（2004年全国），此空答案为A，对于具备基本英语常识并有一定练习量的同学，不必刻意考虑上下文如何（当然也得以上文意思为考虑的前提），只要明白句意及句子的基本特性就知道A是唯一答案。
这就叫做点的概念。
线，顾名思义需要把上下文的意思连成一线才能得出答案。
下面几个选自高考试卷中的例子是在线的层面上通过明喻或暗喻的方法给出解题线索。
1.明喻现象
明喻的意思就是上下文之间有明显的暗示，学会发现这种暗示现象是做完形填空题时必须具备的做题意识，怎样发现并逐步形成这种意识？
做题时先不忙于填空，而是通读文章。
Jinkinsgavethemuchmorevaluableringtohiswifeforherfortiethbirthday.Then,thehusbandandwife__4__toParisforaweekend.

只看四个选项，无论哪个放在句子中都正确。
不忙于选定，继续读文。

上文中划线部分明白无误地告诉做题者，答案是第一个，也就是说飞到巴黎去度假。
中间的过度叙述达140词之多，可见距离之遥远。
做题者若不前后贯通，很可能无从下手。

上述例子属于明示。
如果在平日练习中有意识找寻线索并且形成这样的意识，无疑会提高做题的正答率。
2．暗喻现象
暗喻现象与名誉正好相反，文中没有
Scottandhisfourcompanionswereterribly

其实，无论是明喻还是暗喻，都是上下文暗示的原则，关键是具备意识。
3.生活常识，及词汇，中英文表达

不少同学在选择时误选B与D,问题出在不会将生活常识运用于解题中。
同学们都只知道珠穆朗玛峰登顶的事，在顶峰一定是手擎国旗或将国旗杆牢固地插入地下，因此，B与D不可能入选。
grow又不能用，那么plant就必须考虑了。
表面理解plant是”种植”的意思,继而联想到“根植于。
。
”，想必比较坚固。
由此可以初步选定。
事过之后查查字典，进一步明白plant有牢牢插进，固定的解释。
这样不仅验证了自己的判断，而且对常见字plant又多了一层了解。
这不就是生活常识在做题中的运用吗？
！
查字典验证思维又是丰富词汇量的好方法。
4．面的考虑
