Inthesecondstudy,researcherssurveyedtheinfluenceofBMIanddrinkingonthebodyinmorethan9,000men.Theywerefollowedfor29years.

BothBMIanddrinkingwereconnectedwithliverdiseaseand,moreimportantly,iftheyworkedtogether,theinfluencewasgreaterthanthatofBMIordrinkingalone.Forexample,overweightmenwhowerereporteddrinking15ormoreunitsperweekhadthegreatestriskofliverdisease.
