Shreya’sEnglishteacherdecidedtogetinvolvedinspreadingthewordabouttheproject,byassigningtheinterviewashomework. AlisonMatthewsteachesShreyaatMcCallMiddleSchoolinWinchester,Massachusetts.Sheincorporated(纳入)theStoryCorpsinterviewassignmentintoaunitonthebook,TheGiver.Matthewsdescribesthenovelasa“storyaboutthiscommunitywherethere’soneman—thegiver—whoholdsallthememoriesofthecommunity.”

“TheStoryCorpsprojectfitinsoperfectly.TheLibraryofCongressisthekeeperofourmemories.SoIaskedkidstothinkabouttheimportanceofmemoryinoursociety,”Matthewssaid.
