Ifyou’reupgradingfromOutlook2003to2010,youmightwanttouseIMAPwithyourGmailaccounttosynchronizemailacrossmultiplemachines.Usingourguide,youwillbeabletostartusingitinnotime.

EnableIMAPinGmail

FirstlogintoyourGmailaccountandopentheSettingspanel.ClickontheForwardingandPOP/IMAPtabandverifyIMAPisenabledandsavechanges.

NextopenOutlook2010,clickontheFiletabtoaccesstheBackstageview.ClickonAccountSettingsandAddandremoveaccountsorchangeexistingconnectionsettings.

IntheAccountSettingswindowclickontheNewbutton.

Enterinyourname,emailaddress,andpasswordtwicethenclickNext.

Outlookwillconfiguretheemailserversettings,theamountoftimeittakeswillvary.

Providedeverythinggoescorrectly,theconfigurationwillbesuccessfulandyoucanbeginusingyouraccount.
