【语法的重点难点】
1.therebe结构
英语语言中有两种“有”：
一个是人的“拥有”、“所有”,即have，另一个是“存在有”,即therebe结构。
今天重点讲解第二种。
therebe结构表示“某地存在有某人／某物”，它有数和时态的变化。
在数的方面，分单数和复数两种形式，即单数thereis和复数thereare。
句子中的be（is/are）和后面所跟的名词在数方面必须一致。
基本句式如下：
肯定句：
Thereisabigsupermarket.
Therearemanypeoplehereonvacation.
Thereissomewaterinthebottle.
否定句：
Thereisnotapictureonthewall.
Therearenotanytreeshere.
Thereisnotanyriceinthebag.
疑问句：
Isthereabankhere?
Arethereanyglassesonthetable?
Isthereanyteainthecup?
Howmanydaysarethereinaweek?
回答时可以做简答：
Yes,thereis./No,thereisn’t.
Yes,thereare./No,therearen’t.
Thereareseven.
但是要注意，在并列主语的情况下，往往根据第一个主语的单复数来确定be动词的形式。
这就是英语当中所谓的“就近原则”之一。
例如：
Thereisapenandtwobooksonthedesk.
桌子上有一支钢笔和两本书。
Therearetwobooksandapenonthedesk.
桌子上有两本书和一支钢笔。
2.介词的使用
本单元介词出现的比较多，尤其是表示方位的介词较多。
现在我把表方位的介词及其用法做一下小结：
at表示一个点（或小地方）。
如：
atthepool 在池子里
athome 在家
atthebusstop 在公共汽车站
on表示一个平面。
onthebeach在沙滩上
onthetable在桌子上
onthewall在墙上
in表示一个范围（或大地方）。
inthewater 在水里
inClassFive 在五班
inBeijing/China 在北京／中国
above在……上方

【思路探究】
本题考查的是交际用语中问路、指路当中的指路用语，重点考查的是指路当中方位介词的用法,可参见“功能用语及拓展”的句型。
at一词表示一个点或小地方，用于“在第三个十字路口”最恰当，所以选A,atthethirdcrossing.
例题2.（2005中考模拟题）

本题考查的是问路的句型之一。

Couldyoupleasetellus这个一般疑问句之后应当跟一个陈述句，所以是wecan而不是canwe，故选答案B.
例题3.（2005中考模拟题）

本题考查的重点是therebe这一固定的结构。
have和has干扰项肯定是不对的，因为不存在therehave句型。
