Fellowcountrymen,comradesandfriends,

Today,weholdagrandcelebrationtomarkthe60thanniversaryofthefoundingofthePeople’sRepublicofChina.Atthischeerfulandsolemnmoment,peoplefromalloverthecountry’sethnicgroupsareextremelyproudofourgreatnation’sdevelopmentandprogressandareconfidentoftheChinesenation’sbrightprospectontheroadtorevival.

OnbehalfoftheCPCCentralCommittee,theNationalPeople’sCongress,theStateCouncil,theChinesePeople’sPoliticalConsultativeConferenceandtheCentralMilitaryCommission,Iherebypaytributetoalltherevolutionarypioneersofoldergenerationsandmartyrswhomadegreatcontributionstorealizingnationalindependenceandliberationofthepeople,thecountry’sprosperityandstrengthandhappylifeofthepeople.Isendwarmcongratulationstopeoplefromallethnicgroupsinthecountryandpatrioticcompatriotsfromhomeandabroad,andexpressheartfeltthankstothefriendsfromothercountrieswhocareaboutandsupportChina’sdevelopment.

Sixtyyearsagoonthisday,theChinesepeopleachievedgreatvictoryoftheChineserevolutionaftermorethanonehundredyearsofbloodedstruggle.ItwasherethatChairmanMaoZedongsolemnlydeclaredtotheworldthefoundingofthePeople'sRepublicofChina.Atthatmoment,theChinesepeoplestoodupandtheChinesenationwithover5,000yearsofcivilizationbegananewpageofdevelopmentandprogressinhistory.

Inthepastsixtyyears,withthethreegenerationsofPartyleadershipwithComradeMaoZedong,ComradeDengXiaopingandComradeJiangZeminasacore,andwiththeleadershipoftheCentralCommitteeformedafterthe16thNationalCongressoftheCPC,withhardworkandwisdomofallethnicgroupsofthecountry,theChinesepeoplehavejoinedhandstoovercomethegreathardshipandmadegreatcontributionsthathavebeenrecognizedbytheworld,andprovedourpossibilitiesandendurers.Today,asocialistChinaisstandingfirmlyintheeastasmarchingtowardsmodernization,inglimpsingtheworldandfuture.

Thesixtyyear’sofdevelopmentofNewChinahasprovedthatonlysocialismcansaveChina,onlyreformandopeningupcandevelopChina,developsocialismanddevelopMarxism.TheChinesepeopleareconfidentandarecapableofbuildingourowncountryandmakeduecontributionstotheworld.

WewillunswervinglyfollowourpathonsocialismwithChinesecharacteristicsandcomprehensivelyimplementtherulingparty’sbasictheory,basicplan,basicprogramandbasicexperience.Wewillmaintainourpoliciesofemancipatingourthoughtsinreformandopening-up,pushingforwardscientificdevelopmentandpromotesocialharmony.Wewillpushforwardtheprocessofcomprehensivelybuildingamoderatelywell-offsociety,turningnewpagesinbuildingasocialismwithChinesecharacteristics,andopeningnewchaptersinmakingthepeople'slifebetter.

Wewillsticktothepolicyof“peacefulreunification”and“onecountry,twosystems”tohelpHongKongandMacaoremainprosperousandstable,toseekpeacefuldevelopmentofcross-straitrelations,andtoworkforthecompletereunificationofthemotherland,whichisthecommonaspirationoftheChinesenation.

Wewillunswervinglymaintainanindependentforeignpolicyofpeace.Wewillfollowapathofpeacefuldevelopment.Wewillseekastrategyofwin-wincooperationbasedontheFivePrinciplesofPeacefulCo-existence.Wewilldevelopfriendlyrelationsandcooperationwithallnations.Wejoinhandswiththepeoplefromallovertheworldinpushingforwardtheloftycauseofmakingtheworldmorepeacefulandprogressiveandbuildingaharmoniousworldoflong-lastingpeaceandprosperity.

TheChinesePeople’sLiberationArmyandPeople’sArmedPoliceForceshouldupholdtheirglorioustraditions,builduptheirownstrengthandfulfilltheirmissionspracticallysoastomakenewcontributionstosafeguardingnationalsovereignty,securityandterritorialintegrity,aswellasworldpeace.

Historyhasshownusthattheroadaheadmaynotalwaysbeassmoothasweexpect.ButtheChinesepeoplewhoareunitedandaremastersofthedestinywillovercomealldifficultiesandobstaclesandwillcontinuetocreategreathistoricundertakings.

Lookforwardtothefuture,weenvisionbrightprospectforChina’sdevelopment.ThewholeParty,thearmyandpeopleofallethnicgroupswillunitemoreclosely,holdingupthegreatbannerofbuildingasocialismwithChinesecharacteristics,andadvancewiththetimesandwithenterprisingspirit.Let’scontinuetobuildupsocialistmodernnationwithprosperity,democracyandharmony,moveforwardtorealizethegreatgoalofrejuvenationoftheChinesenationandmakingnewgreatcontributionstothewellbeingofhumanitywithourdiligentworkan
