itcouldbeloathing,tenderness,pityorfrustration.Itcoversfeelingsofapprovalanddisapproval,likingandnotliking,hatredandlove.Ifyouareinterestedinacharacter,youareconcernedaboutwhathappenstohimorher.
Surprise:
Sometimesthecharactersinwhomweareinteresteddonotdowhatweexpect;
theresultissurprise.Otherthingsinastorymaysurpriseus.Theremaybeanunexpectedevent,ortheappearanceofanewcharacter.Oncewearesurprised,wewillalterourattitudetothecharactersandourexpectationsofthestory.Itforcesustothinkagainaboutwhatwearereading.Youaresupposedtoacceptthembecausetheyarecrucialtotheplotofthenovel.

manynovelsshowthecentralcharactersmakingdiscoveriesaboutlife.Insomenovelsidealsareshattered,inothersfalseideasarerecognizedandreplacedbytruerones.Thereadercanfeelthepleasureinwitnessingacharacter’sdevelopment,growthinunderstanding,andmaturation.
3.Plotsbasedontheworkingsofsociety:
