ThepicturevividlydepictsalovelyAmericangirlintraditionalChinesecostumewithasweetsmileonherface.Shewearsribbons,necklacesandotheraccessoriesthatarecharacteristicoftheclothesofacertainChineseminoritygroup.Undoubtedly,thecostumehasaddedorientalcharm/glamourtoherbeautifullook/appearance/features.

Whatthepictureconveysgoesfarbeyondonly/merelyanewfashiontrend.Instead,itcarriesculturalmeanings/implicationsaswell.ThefactthatpeoplefromdifferentcountriesareattractedtomysteriousChinesecultureindicatesthattosomeextentaculturecanbeaccepted,respected,appreciatedandsharedinternationally.Inotherwords,anation’sunique/distinctiveculturecanbecomeinternationalthroughworldwideeconomicandculturalexchanges.Sincethetrendofglobalizationbecomeirresistible,theincreasingculturalexchangescaneffectivelyimprovemutualunderstandingandfriendship.

Itismyviewthatnationalcultureaspricelessspiritualtreasureshouldbepreservedandcherished.Meanwhile,therearegoodreasonstoadvocateinternationalcultureforthoseideasfromtheothercultures,controversialorevenabsurdatfirstsight,canprovideadifferentperspectiveforustoobservetheworldinthelongrun.Nevertheless,whenweareconfrontedwithadifferentculture,weshouldbesensibleenoughtoabsorbitsessenceandtoresistitsdarkside.Onlyinthiswaycanwepromoteculturaldevelopmentpositivelyandmakeourworlddimensional,colorfulandvigorous.
