ConfuciusisagreateducatorandthinkerinChinesehistory.BorninthevillageofZouinthecountryofLuin551B.C,heiswellknownforhisownethicswith“benevolence”asthecore.HiswiderangeofphilosophyineducationandConfucianism,aswellashisstudents,makehimoneofthemostremarkablemeninancienttimes.

ConfuciussetupthefirstprivateschoolinChina,enrollingandeducatingthestudentsfromeverywhere.Hecameupwithawiseeducationtheory,thatis,“Inteachingpeople,thereisnodiscrimination.”,whichbrokethelong-standingsituationofaristocraticeducation.HealsomademanywisesayinginancientChinathathelpedmanypeoplelearnaboutnature,theworld,andthehumanbehavior.It’ssaidthathehad3000studentsandheledsomeofthemtovisitvariousstatestopropagatehisthoughts.Amongallofhisstudents,72peoplebecamethefamousscholars,likeYanHuiandZhongYou,whohelpdeveloptheConfucianisminsomeextent.Confucius’sviewsanddialogueswithhisstudentswerecollectedandcompiledintoAnalects,whichhasbeenreadthroughallages.SincetheHanDynasty,ConfucianismandAnalectshaspredominatedthetraditionalChinesecultureformorethan2000yearsandmadeafar-reachingimpact.
