BillyWilderhadonlyelevendollarswhenhearrivedtosettleintheUnitedStatesin1934.HeformedawritingteamwithCharlesBrackett.Thetwowriterscreatedmanyfilmstogether.

WilderandBrackettwroteseveralsuccessfulmovies.Wilderalwayspraisedthismanasafriendandteacherwhosehumorandexpertdirectiongreatlyinfluencedhiswork.
