一、课程教学目的
大学英语的教学目的是培养学生的英语综合能力,通过系统的学习,使学生能以英语为工具,获取专业所需要的信息。
在今后的学习、工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行交际,同时增强其自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。
其主要任务是培养学生:
1.能听懂有关一般话题的对话,领会讲话者的观点和意图并能记录结构较复杂的句子或较长信息。
2.能够较连贯地对熟悉的话题发表意见,表达思想基本清楚,讲话比较流畅,语音语调自然并能就教材内容发表简短的见解和观点。
3.能顺利阅读语言难度中等的一般性题材的文章,掌握中心大意及具体细节,并进行一定的分析、推理、和判断,领会作者观点和态度,阅读速度达每分钟80词。
在阅读生词不超过总词数的3%篇章时,能掌握大意,抓住主要事实和有关细节,阅读速度每分钟100词。
4.能在半小时内就简单的题目,根据一定的提纲,写出120~130词左右的短文,段落结构清晰,段落具有整体性和连贯性,且段落中句子组织手段和段落展开类型具有多样性。
5.能借助词典翻译题材熟悉,有一定难度的英语文章,理解正确,译文达意,译速为每小时300英语单词;
能将内容熟悉的汉语文字材料译成英语,译文达意,无重大语言错误,译速为每小时250汉字。
二、教学内容及基本要求
本课程主要内容是《新视野英语教程》第一册至第四册中所涉及的听说读写译的内容及要求。
