JohnLogieBairdwillalwaysberememberedasthemanwhoinventedtelevision.

BairdwasbornonAugust14,1888.Duringtheearly1920s,JohnLogieBairdhadasmalllaboratoryintheseasidetownofHastings.Itwasinthatlaboratorythathefirstsucceededinprojectingamovingfigureacrossthewalls.

Unfortunately,duringalaterexperimenthegotashock.Notonlydidthisleavehimshaken,butitalsoblewoutthefuse(保险丝)boxintheentirebuilding.TheownerofthehousehadbeensuspiciousofthestrangegoingsoninthecuriousScottishman’sapartmentandhewaspolitelyaskedtoleave.AfterthathemovedtoadepartmentinSoho,Londonandcontinuedhisexperiments.

SuccessfinallysmiledonhimandonOctober25,1925hewasabletotransmithisfirstmovingimage.Thiswasthefirsttimethatanysuchsuccesshadbeenachieved.Unfortunately,hiseyesweretheonlyonestowitnessitatthetime.Hecalledhisnewinvention“thetelevisor”.OnJune16,1926heshowedhisfirstworktoanaudienceofinterestedwitnesses.Butnoneofthemimaginedjustwhatanimpacthisinventionwouldhaveonthemodernworld.

Overthefollowingyears,Bairdworkedhardforfurtherimprovement.Hemanagedtotransmitimagesoverlongerdistances,achievingthefirsttransatlanticbroadcastin1928.Hebecamethepioneerofcolortelevision,too.Heshowedthefirstexperimentalcolortelevisionimagesasearlyas1928.By1930hehadmanagedtodevelopasystemforbroadcastingsimultaneous(同时发生的)soundalongwiththeimages.Televisionhadtrulybeenborn.Bairdcontinuedtomakemanyimportantcontributionstothedevelopmentoftelevision.In1944hepresentedthefirstcolortelevisionsettotheworld.
