Thedocumentwasdiscoveredburiedintheuniversityarchives(档案)byparttimehistorystudentLisSmith,whoiscompletingherPhDatStAndrewsInstituteofScottishHistoricalResearch.Shesaid:
“WeknewthatSophiaJexBlakeandhersupporters,intheirefforttoopenupuniversitymedicaleducationforwomen,hadwrittentotheSenatusAcademicus(校评议委员会)atStAndrewsinanattempttogainpermissiontoattendclassesthere,butwedidn'
