Whileinprison,Rudmandevelopedathirstforknowledgeandwenttotheprisonlibrary.Hereadlawbooks,andthenfiledafederalsuitagainstthepolicemen.Hesaidtheyattackedhimandthatheshotonlyinself-defence.Andtheybeathimsobadlythattheybrokeoneofhisfingers.This,hesaid,deprivedhimofhiscivilrights,andheaskedfor$150,000indamages.
