”Irememberbeingstartledandconfusedbyherquestion.I’dneverbeenparticularlyinterestedinplayingwiththeotherchildren.Ithadn’t,tillthen,occurredtomethatthatwaseitheroddorsomethingwithme.Norhaditoccurrredtomethattheydidn’t“wanttoplaywith”me.Myfirstconsciousmemoryoffeelingdifferentwasinthefourthgrade.Atthewardrobe,listeningtoclassmatesjoking,chatteringandlaughingwitheachother,IrealizedIhadn’taclueaboutwhatwassofunnyorofhowtoparticipateintheireasychatter.TheyseemedtoliveinauniverseaboutwhichIknewnothingatall.Itriedtoactlikeothersbutitwassodifficult.Ifeltconfusedanddisoriented.Iturnedbacktomyinnerworld:
readingbooks,writinganddaydreaming.Myinwardnessgrewmeinwaysthatcontinuedtomovemefurtherawayfromtheworldofmyagepeers.Theeasyflowofcasualsocialchathasremainedforeverbeyondmyreachandbeyondmyinterest,too.

HowcouldhedareinsultmelikethisIfeltthatIwantedtokillthisman.WhenIrecoveredIwasabletothinkaboutitmoreclearly.Theseracistpeoplearejuststupidanddonotknowanythingaboutlife.
