　　Article1ThisLawisenactedinordertoprevent，controlandeliminatetheoccurrenceandepidemicofinfectiousdiseasesandtoensurethehealthofthepeople.

　　Article2Thestateshallimplementapolicyofputtingtheemphasisonprevention，combiningpreventionwithtreatmentandclassifiedmanagementwithrespecttoinfectiousdiseases.

　　Article3TheinfectiousdiseasesgovernedbythisLawhallbedividedintoClassesA，B，andC.

　　AClassinfectiousdiseasesshallincludeplagueandcholera.

　　BClassinfectiousdiseasesshallincludeviralhepatitis，bacillaryandamebicdysentery，typhoidandparatyphoid，AIDS，gonorrhea，syphilis，poliomyelitis，measles，pertussis，diphtheria，epidemiccerebrospinalmeningitis，scarletfever，epidemichemorrhagicfever，rabies，leptospirosis，brucellosis，anthrax，epidemicandendemictyphus，epidemicencephalitisB，kala-azar，malaria，anddenguefever.

　　CClassinfectiousdiseasesshallincludepulmonarytuberculosis，schistosomiasis，filariasis，echinococcosis，leprosy，influenza，epidemicparotitis，rubella，tetanus，neonatorum，acutehemorrhagicconjunctivitisandinfectiousdiarrheaotherthancholera，dysentery，typhoidandparatyphoid.

　　TheStateCouncilmay，accordingtocircumstances，increaseordecreasethenumberofAClassinfectiousdiseasesandmakecorrespondingannouncements；

thehealthadministrationdepartmentundertheStateCouncilmay，accordingtocircumstances，increaseordecreasethenumberofBClassandCClassinfectiousdiseasesandmakecorrespondingannouncements.

　　Article4Governmentsatvariouslevelsshalldirecttheworkofpreventingandtreatinginfectiousdiseases，drawupprogrammesforthepreventionandtreatmentofinfectiousdiseasesandberesponsiblefortheirimplementation.

　　Article5Thehealthadministrationdepartmentsofgovernmentsatvariouslevelsshallexerciseuniformsupervisionoverandcontroloftheworkofpreventingandtreatinginfectiousdiseases.

　　Anti-epidemicagenciesatvariouslevelsandofdifferenttypesshall，accordingtothedivisionofprofessionalwork，undertakethemonitoringandcontrolofinfectiousdiseaseswithintheirrespectivespheresofresponsibilities.

　　Medicalcareandhealthinstitutionsatvariouslevelsandofdifferenttypesshallundertakethetasksofpreventing，treatingandcontrollinginfectiousdiseaseswithintheirrespectivespheresofresponsibilitiesandreceiveprofessionalguidancefromtheanti-epidemicagenciesconcerned.

　　ThepreventionandtreatmentofinfectiousdiseasesinthePeople'

sLiberationArmyshallbecarriedoutincompliancewiththisLawandotherrelevantprovisionsofthestateandshallbesupervisedandcontrolledbythedepartmentsinchargeofhealthintheArmy.

　　Article6Themanagementoffood，pharmaceuticalsandwaterwhichisrelatedtothepreventionandcontrolofinfectiousdiseasesaswellasfrontierquarantineshallbecarriedoutaccordingtotherelevantprovisionsofthelaw.

　　Article7AnyunitofindividualontheterritoryofthePeople'

sRepublicofChinamustrespondtoinquiriesbymedicalcareandhealthinstitutionsandanti-epidemicagenciesoninfectiousdiseasesandaccepttheirexaminationsandinvestigationsforcertificationaswellastheirpreventiveandcontrolmeasures，andshallhavetherighttoinformtheauthoritiesorfilechargesagainstanyviolationofthisLaw.

　　Article8Unitsandindividualswhohavemaderemarkableachievementsinorcontributionstothepreventionandcontrolofinfectiousdiseasesshallbeawarded.

　　Article9Governmentsatvariouslevelsshallcarryouthealtheducationonthepreventionofinfectiousdiseasesandorganizepeoplefortheeliminationofthehazardsofrodentsandvectorinsectslikemosquitoesandfliesaswellasotheranimalsthattransmitinfectiousdiseasesorsufferfrominfectiousdiseasescommontohumanbeingsandanimals.

　　Article10Localgovernmentsatvariouslevelsshallestablishorreconstructpublichealthfacilitiesinaplannedway，takenecessarymeasuresfortheinnocenttreatmentofsewage，wastesandfeces，andimprovethehygienicconditionofdrinkingwater.
