Theorganization(abbreviationCCDI)isalargearchitecturalconsultingfirmfoundedin1994,whichprovidesintegratedservicesforurbanconstructionanddevelopment.Ithasbusinessunitscoveringbroadindustrysectorstoachievespecialization.FiveregionalofficesthatarelocatedinShanghai,Beijing,Shenzhen,ChengduandNewYork,aswellasbranchesandrepresentativeofficesinChongqing,Nanjing,Tianjin,Wuhan,Xi’an,andKunming,setupitsoperationscross-regionally.SuccessfulcasesofthisorganizationincludeNationalAquaticsCenter-WaterCube,NationalTennisCenter,ShenzhenPing'
anInternationalFinancialCenter,RockbundShanghai,JinanOlympicSportsCenter,ShenzhenDameishaVankeCenter,HangzhouOlympicSportsCenter,HarbinWestRailwayStation,HarbinTaipingInternationalAirport,KunlunApartmentCBDBeijing,CityCrossingShenzhenPhaseII,TianjinVankeCrystalCityandTianjinInternationalCruiseHomePort.Sinceitsfounding,thisorganizationhasmaderemarkabletechnologicaladvancementsinindependentinnovationandenvironmentalprotection(CCDI2011).
1.2.StaffStructure
CCDIadoptsamodernenterprisemanagementsystemtosetuppracticaloperationalpoliciesthatmaximizethecapabilitiesofaChinesedesignfirm.Itemploysnearlyfourthousandoutstandingarchitects,engineers,planners,consultants,projectmanagersandmanagementconsultingprofessionals.Toofferconsulting,architecturaldesign,constructionmanagement,engineering,andotherrelatedservicesinthefieldsofgeneralbuilding,railtransportation,industries,etc.Itstrivestoprovideitscustomerswithsystemicandcomprehensivesolutions(CCDI2011).
1.3.ServiceandClients
Itsservicecoversfourbasicfieldsnamelyconsultancy,design,management,andengineering.Theseserviceactivitieshelpclientswiththeinitialphaseoftheircapitalinvestments,understandtheeffectofallfactorsonfutureinvestmentreturnsandfinallydevelopaplanforprojectimplementation.Itusesadvancedengineeringtechniquesandinnovativeconceptstomeetfunctionalrequirementswhileachievingahighinvestment/performanceratio.CCDI’shighlydevelopedandstandardizedprojectmanagementexpertise;

Basedonthisculture,CCDIestablisheditscorporateuniversityintheyearof2005andprovidedifferenttypesofcoursestoitsmembers.
2.Currentsituation
CCDIrunsbasedonthe7-SFramework(Waterman,Petersetal.1980)createdbytheMcKinseyinwhichthesevenkeyelementsofanorganization,namely,thestructure,measurementsystem,managementstyle,staffcharacteristics,distinctivestaffskills,strategy/actionplan,andsharedvaluesareidentified(Plessis,Plessisetal.1999).
Duringthisperiod,CCDIexperiencedsignificanttransformationalorganizationchangeaimedatensuringthattheorganizationisflexibleandabletorapidlyrespondtothecompetitivemarketplace.
2.1.OrganizationStructure
Facedofftoday’sknowledgeeconomy,knowledge,whichcanberegardasintellectualcapitalisnowbecominganewsourceofwealthfororganizationsanddefinitelyisengineofeconomicandsocialdevelopmentpersonalityandorganizationaldevelopmentispossible.CCDIregardsitselfastheknowledge-intensiveorganizationthatfocusesonthelearningandinnovationofitsdevelopment.CCDIreorganizesitsorganizationaccordingtoseveralresearchesandanalyze.Andalsoestablishanorganizationstructuremodelthatemphasizessomeofthebasicprocessesinvolvedincoordination((Malone1986).
