物主代词可以分为形容词性物主代词和名词性物主代词
一、形容词性物主代词
1、形容词性物主代词表示“……（人）的”,表所属关系。

形容词性物主代词起形容词的作用，用在名词前:
形容词性物主代词（my/your/his/her/its/our/their）+名词
mypen我的钢笔yourbag你的书包
hisbike他的自行车ourdictionaries我们的字典
1）形容词性物主代词不能单独使用，其后必须跟名词（可以是单数也可以是复数），做定语，不能省略。
如:
Wearedoingourhomework.我们正在做作业.（our不能省略）
Hehasaballinhishand.他手里有一个球.（his不能省略）
Mybrothersaredoctors.
2）形容词性物主代词与形容词一起修饰名词时,放在形容词前，其顺序是:
形容词性物主代词+形容词+名词。
mynewbike我的新自行车 heryoungson她年幼的儿子
3）当名词前有形容词性物主代词修饰时,不能再用冠词a,an或the和指示代词this,that,these或those来修饰名词。
那是我的自行车.

二、名词性物主代词
名词性物主代词后面不用加名词，可以单独使用。

1）名词性物主代词相当于一个名词，在句中作主语、表语或宾语，能单独使用。

2）为避免重复使用名词，有时可用“名词性物主代词”来代替“形容词性物主代词+名词”的形式,即名词性物主代词=形容词性物主代词+名词
Yourbedroomisbig.Mybedroom（=Mine）isbig,too.你的卧室大。
我的卧室也大。
Mybagisyellow,herbagisred,hisbagisblueandyourbagispink.
=Mybagisyellow,hersisred,hisisblueandyoursispink.
3）名词性物主代词有时可以和of构成短语。
Afriendofmine（=Oneofmyfriends）isgoodatEnglish.

形容词性物主代词和名词性物主代词区别：
形容词性物主代词相当于形容词，在句中作定语，不能单独使用；
名词性的物主代词相当于名词，在句中作主语、表语或宾语，能单独使用。
物主代词用法歌诀。
