Abstract:
Aphotoelectricencoderincludes:
ascale;
adetectionhead;
fibersthroughwhichlightthatistobeirradiatedonthescaleandlightreflectedbythescalepropagates;
firstandsecondcableseachhavingaspaceinwhichthefibersarepartiallydisposed;
andacasethatenclosesalightsourcethatsupplieslighttooneofthefibersandalight-sensitiveelementthatreceivesthereflectedlightpropagatingthroughtheothersofthefibersandconvertsthereceivedlightintoanelectricsignal.Thefirstcable,thesecondcable,andthecasearedisposedinthisorderinthedirectionofpropagationofthereflectedlight.Thepositionsofthefibersarefixedrelativetooneanotherinsidethefirstcableinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionoflengthofthefibersandvariablerelativetooneanotherinsidethesecondcableintheorthogonaldirection.
Claims:

Aphotoelectricencodercomprising:
ascalethathasadiffractiongratingformedatapredeterminedpitchinameasurementaxisdirection;
adetectionheadthatirradiatesthescalewithlightandreceiveslightreflectedbythescale;
apluralityoffibersthroughwhichthelightthatistobeirradiatedonthescaleandthelightreflectedbythescalepropagates;
afirstcablethathasaninnerspaceinwhichthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposed;
asecondcablethathasaninnerspaceinwhichthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposed;
andaframeunitinsidewhichalightsourceandalight-sensitiveelementareprovided,thelightsourcesupplyinglighttothepluralityoffibersoratleastoneofthepluralityoffibers,thelight-sensitiveelementreceivingthereflectedlightpropagatingthroughthepluralityoffibersortheothersofthepluralityoffibersandconvertingthereceivedlightintoanelectricsignal,whereinthefirstcable,thesecondcable,andtheframeunitaredisposedinthisorderinadirectionofpropagationofthelightreflectedbythescalethroughthepluralityoffibersortheothersofthepluralityoffibers,thepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthefirstcableinsuchamannerthatthepositionsofthefibersarefixedrelativetooneanotherinadirectionorthogonaltoadirectionoflengthofthefibers,andthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthesecondcableinsuchamannerthatthepositionsofthefibersarevariablerelativetooneanotherinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionofthelengthofthefibers.
