Abstract:

Aphotoelectricencoderincludes:

ascale;

adetectionhead;

fibersthroughwhichlightthatistobeirradiatedonthescaleandlightreflectedbythescalepropagates;

firstandsecondcableseachhavingaspaceinwhichthefibersarepartiallydisposed;

andacasethatenclosesalightsourcethatsupplieslighttooneofthefibersandalight-sensitiveelementthatreceivesthereflectedlightpropagatingthroughtheothersofthefibersandconvertsthereceivedlightintoanelectricsignal.Thefirstcable,thesecondcable,andthecasearedisposedinthisorderinthedirectionofpropagationofthereflectedlight.Thepositionsofthefibersarefixedrelativetooneanotherinsidethefirstcableinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionoflengthofthefibersandvariablerelativetooneanotherinsidethesecondcableintheorthogonaldirection.

Claims:

1. 

Aphotoelectricencodercomprising:

ascalethathasadiffractiongratingformedatapredeterminedpitchinameasurementaxisdirection;

adetectionheadthatirradiatesthescalewithlightandreceiveslightreflectedbythescale;

apluralityoffibersthroughwhichthelightthatistobeirradiatedonthescaleandthelightreflectedbythescalepropagates;

afirstcablethathasaninnerspaceinwhichthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposed;

asecondcablethathasaninnerspaceinwhichthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposed;

andaframeunitinsidewhichalightsourceandalight-sensitiveelementareprovided,thelightsourcesupplyinglighttothepluralityoffibersoratleastoneofthepluralityoffibers,thelight-sensitiveelementreceivingthereflectedlightpropagatingthroughthepluralityoffibersortheothersofthepluralityoffibersandconvertingthereceivedlightintoanelectricsignal,whereinthefirstcable,thesecondcable,andtheframeunitaredisposedinthisorderinadirectionofpropagationofthelightreflectedbythescalethroughthepluralityoffibersortheothersofthepluralityoffibers,thepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthefirstcableinsuchamannerthatthepositionsofthefibersarefixedrelativetooneanotherinadirectionorthogonaltoadirectionoflengthofthefibers,andthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthesecondcableinsuchamannerthatthepositionsofthefibersarevariablerelativetooneanotherinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionofthelengthofthefibers.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthesecondcableinsuchamannerthatpositionsofthefibersarerandomrelativetooneanotherinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionofthelengthofthefibers.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthesecondcableinsuchamannerthateachofthefibershasslack.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinthepluralityoffibersispartiallydisposedintheinnerspaceofthefirstcableinsuchamannerthateachtwoofthefibersoneofwhichisdisposedadjacenttotheotherinthedirectionorthogonaltothedirectionofthelengthofthefibersareincontactwitheachother.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinaninsidediameterofthesecondcableislargerthananinsidediameterofthefirstcable.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinthesecondcableismoreflexiblethanthefirstcable.

Thephotoelectricencoderaccordingtoclaim1,whereinthesecondcablehasafirstconnectorprovidedatoneendinthedirectionofthelengthofthefibersandasecondconnectorprovidedattheotherendinthedirectionofthelengthofthefibers.
