摘要

电影《8英里》是由柯蒂斯•汉森执导，艾米纳姆主演的一部半自传式电影，上映于2002年。

这部电影主要记录了出身于底特律的年轻人吉米•史密斯的个人经历一一他是一位蓝领工人，也是众多黑人嘻哈歌手中另类的白人。

面对来自工作、家庭和感情多方面的压力，他用嘻哈音乐来表达对生活的愤怒和不满，试图跨越种族和个人的身心障碍，勇敢表达自己的个性。

嘻哈音乐及嘻哈文化是起源于贫民社区，并由黑人青年主导的亚文化。

因此阶级、种族与性别是围绕嘻哈文化被讨论较多的话题。

电影《8英里》将音乐与这些话题结合在了一起。

本文采用身份建构理论，通过从阶级、种族和性别关系这三个角度研究电影《8英里》中主角吉米•史密斯的行为表现，尝试说明音乐可以被看作是身份的隐喻。

论文的第一章从嘻哈音乐与社会阶级关系说起。

影片主角与他的朋友们都出身于底特律贫民区，生活环境较差。

他们通过说唱这种方式描述生活的现实。

论文的第二章讨论了嘻哈音乐与种族的关系对主角身份建构的影响。

影片主角的白人身份是他与嘻哈文化的一大冲突。

论文的第三章从性别角度来分析，通过探索影片中女性角色及嘻哈音乐与性别的联系来说明其对身份建构的影响。

8Mileisasemi-biographicalmoviedirectedbyCurtisHansonandstarringEminemwhichreleasedin2002.ThisfilmtellsastoryaboutayoungmannamedJimmySmithfromDetroit.Heisablue-collarworker,aswellasawhiterapperwhichisunusualinhip-hopfield.Hehasmuchstressfromwork,familyandemotion,soheuseshiship-hopmusictoexpresshisrageanddiscontent.Hetriestostepoverbarriersofraceandmentalitytoexpresshimselfcourageously.

Hip-hopmusicandhip-hopculturecanbeseenassubculturerootedfromslumsanddominatedbyyoungAfrican-Americans.Suchissuesasclass,raceandgenderareoftendiscussedwhenitcomestohip-hop.Movie8Milecombinesmusicwiththesetopics.AnalyzingtheprotagonistJimmySmith'

sbehaviorandpresenceinthemovie8Mile,fromtheperspectivesofclass,raceandgenderinidentitytheories,thisthesisaimstoarguethatmusiccanberegardedasametaphorofone'

ChapterOneisgoingtotalkabouthip-hopmusicandsocietyfromtheperspectiveofclass.Inthemovie,protagonistJimmySmithandhisfriendsarealmostfromtheslumsinDetroitandliveinbadcondition.Theyraptheirlives.ChapterTwoisgoingtodiscussidentityconstructionfromhip-hopmusicandrace.JimmySmithisawhiteman,andthisisthemostobviousconflictinhip-hopfieldandinthemovie.ChapterThreeisgoingtoresearchfromtheangleofsexualitybyanalyzingfemaleimagesinthismovieandgenderissuesinhip-hopmusic.
