ABSTRACT
TheVirtualInstrument(VI)mainlyreferstobuildallkindsofinstrumentsbysoftwaresuchasLabVIEW,whichlikesarealinstrumentbuildinacomputer.Its'
maincharacteristicsareflexibility,multi-functions,multipleusesforonePCcomputer,givinghighperformance,andislesscostly.Inthispaper,theVItechnologyisappliedtothetestandmeasurementofinstrumentcurrenttransformer(TA).ByusingtheLabVIEW,theTAaccuracycalibratorwasdeveloped.ThisvirtualTAcalibratorcanautomaticallymeasuretheaccuracyofTAandcanindicatetheratioerrorandphaseerrorcurves.ThetestsandcalibrationfortheTAshowthatthevirtualTAcalibratorcanbeusedinplaceofthetraditionalcalibratorandismuchbetterthanthetraditionalone.

Ⅰ.INTRODUCTION
Since1992theVXIbusRew.1.4standardwasestablishedbytheUnitedStatesandLabVIEWwaspresentedbytheNationalInstrumentsco.(NI),theVirtualInstrument(VI)havelainthefoundationforitscommercialuse.ThemaincharacteristicofVirtualInstrumentisthatitmakesinstrumentsbysoftware.MostofthetraditionalinstrumentcanbedevelopedbyVI.TheVIisarealinstrumentmadebythepersonalcomputer.[1]
TheInstrumentcurrenttransformer(TA)iswidelyusedinallkindsofcurrentmeasurementandithasthefunctionsofprotection,isolationandextendingthemeasuringrange.Withtherapiddevelopmentofcomputermeasurementandcontroltechnology,andwiththesequentemergenceofcurrenttransformerandtransduczr,thereisanincreasingnumberofcurrenttransformerswithhighaccuracvandlowsecondarlycurrent.ThestandardTAsecondarycurrentisusually1Aor5A,somenon-standardTAsecondarycurrentmaybe0.1Aorlower[2][3].Althoughwehavethetechniquetomakethiskindofcalibratorbymeansofhardwaresuchassinglechipcomputerandelectroniccircuit,DSPandsoon[4-8],itwillcosttoomuchmoneyfortheseno-standard

calibratorandwilltaketoomuchtimeandthecalibratormadebythesehardwaremillnotbesatisfactoryinbothfunctionandpracticalityfordesigningallkindsofnewTA.
ThecalibratorthatadoptsVItechnologynotonlycanmeettherequirementsofthetraditionalonebutalsocansatisfycustomerswithsuchadvantagesasmulti-functions,convenience,andhighratiobetweenperformanceandcost.TheexperimentresultsindicatethatthevirtualcalibratorcanprovideexcelIentconditionforTAmeasurementanddesign.TheVItechnologandpersonalcomputermustbewidelyusedintheareaofcalibrationoninstrumenttransformer.
Ⅱ.THEWORNNGPRINCIPLEOFTACALIBRATOR
TheerrorofTAincludesratioerrorandphaseerror.ThemeasuringoftheerrorofTAorthecalibrationoftheaccuracyofTAusuallyappliesdifferentialmeasuringmethod.ThemethodneedsastandardTAexceptthemeasuredTAandaTAcalibrator.ThereisthesametumratiobetweenthestandardandmeasuredTAandthestandardTA'
saccuracyshouldbe2levelshigherthanthemeasuredone.Thecalibratorfunctionliesinformingcomparisoncircuits,measuring,andshowingtheerroratallrange.Thecomparisoncircuit,alsoreferredtothedifi-erencemeasuringprinciplecircuit,isshowedinFig.1.BymeasuringthevoltageonR0andRd,calculatethecorrespondingcurrent.Thenthecalibratorcanindicatetheerrors.
