理解并掌握sothat引导的状语从句的用法
sothat与so…that的用法辨析
1.sothat引导目的状语从句时，表示〝以便，为了〞从句中常使用can/could/may/might/will/would/should等情态动词或助动词；引导结果状语从句时，从句中一般不用can和may等词，在sothat前可以用逗号，意思是〝因此，所以〞。
例如：
ThelittleboysavedeverycoinsothathecouldbuyhismotherapresentonMother’sDay.
小男孩儿节省每一枚硬币，以便在母亲节可以给妈妈买礼物。
Wegotupearly,sothatwecaughttheearlybus.
我们起得很早，因此赶上了早班车。
2.so+形容词或副词+that…引导结果状语从句，意思是〝如此…以至于…〞。
例如：
ThesunshineissobeautifulthatI’dliketogoswimminginthesea.
阳光如此美丽以至于我想在海里游泳。
MissGaoaskedaquestion,butitwassodifficultthatnobodycouldanswerit.
高老师问了一个问题，但太难了以至于没有人能回答上来。
注意：
1.当that引导的结果状语从句为肯定句时，so…that…可以与be…enoughtodo转换；当从句为否定句时，可以与too…to或benot…enoughtodo转换。
例如：
Davidwassocarelessthathedidn’tfindthemistakesinhistestpaper.
=Davidwastoocarelesstofindthemistakesinhistestpaper.
David非常粗心，以至于他没有找到试卷中的错误。
2.so…that可以用such…that来代替。
例如：
Heissogoodadoctorthateverybodylovesandrespectshim.
=Heissuchagooddoctorthateverybodylovesandrespectshim.
他是一名好医生，以至于每个人都喜爱他、尊敬他。
notonly...butalso的用法
notonly...butalso意为〝不但...而且...〞，它是一个表并列关系的连词，用来连接两个并列关系的句子成分。
例如：
IcanspeaknotonlyEnglish,butalsoFrench.我不但会讲英语，而且会讲法语。
注意：
当notonly...butalso连接两个主语的时候，谓语动词应与最近的那一个主语在人称和数上保持一致。
例如：
Notonlyyoubutalsoheisright.不仅你还有他都是对的。

so…that的用法，如此…以至于。
题意为〝«中国达人秀»节目那么有意思，以至于很多人都喜欢看它。

2.so…that的用法，如此…以至于。

〞应选D。
3.根据句意可知Leo太饿了以至于冲进厨房，希望找到些吃的，thirsty口渴的；hungry饿的；tired累的；sleepy困倦的，应选B。
4.such+a+形容词+名词+that〝如此…以至于〞；thousandsof成千上万的，应选D。
5.根据前一句，句意为〝July是非常有天赋的〞，因而后面一句的意思即为〝不仅能弹钢琴还能画画。
〞notonly…butalso表示〝不仅…而且…〞；而neither…nor〝两者都不〞;either…or或者…或者…;togetherwith和…一起，应选C。
