Procedure

1.AskthecustomertosuspendI/Ototheserverinthe TS7650G or TS7650Appliance. IndicatebelowwhenthecustomerreportsthatI/Oissuspended.

Seestoragecontroller/expansionunitdocumentationfordetailedpoweroffinstructionstopreventdamagetothecontrollersandexpansiondrawerunits.

38.Whenthecontrollershavefinishedpoweringoff,poweroffallexpansionunits.

39.ShutdowntheTSSC.Todoso:

a.LogintotheTSSCwiththeusername:

service andpassword:

service.

b.Right-clickontheTSSC'sbluedesktop.The TS3000SystemConsoleMenu displays.

c.Select ShutdownConsole.

d.Adialogboxappearswiththisquestion:

Shutdownthemachine?

e.Select OK tostarttheshutdownprocess.

f.Theshutdownprocessiscompletewhenyouseethis:

ItisnowsafetoturnofftheTS3000SystemConsoleHolddownthepowerbuttonfor5secondstopoweroff.

Pressthepowerbutton,itisnotnecessarytoholdthebuttondown.

g.Whenthepoweroffprocessiscomplete,thepowerLEDontheserver'sfrontpanelwillblinksteadily.Thisindicatesthattheserverisinstandbymode.

40.Whenallrelevantcomponentsintheframe（orframes）arepoweredoff,powerofftheframe（orframes）usingtheUnitPowerOn/Off（UPO）switchorthecustomer'scircuitbreaker.

4.PressthepowerbuttonontheTSSC.

5.LogintotheTSSCwiththeusername service andpassword service.

6.Pressthepowerbuttonontheserver'sfrontpanel.

Approximately15minutesaftertheserverispowered-on,followingthereboot,youcanlogintothe ProtecTIERServiceMenu.

7.Accessthe ProtecTIERServiceMenu withamonitorandkeyboardpluggedintothe TS7650 server.LoginwiththeIDptconfig andthepassword ptconfig.

8.Fromthe ProtecTIERServiceMenu,selectthe ManageProtecTIERservices option.

Toturnoffallcomponentsinthe TS7650Appliance orthe TS7650G inbothstand-aloneandclusteredinstallations,performthefollowingsteps:

1.Ensurethatnodrivefaultlight-emittingdiodes（LEDs）arelitonalldiskcomponents.IfanydrivefaultLEDsarelit,correctthefaultbeforecontinuing.

2.AskthecustomertosuspendI/Ototheserverinthe TS7650Appliance orthe TS7650G inbothstand-aloneandclusteredinstallations.IndicatebelowwhenthecustomerreportsthatI/Oissuspended.

v.ConnectaUSBkeyboardandmonitortothebackoftheserver.

vi.Attheloginprompt,loginwiththeuserID root andthepassword admin.

vii.Atthecommandprompt,typethefollowingcommand:

poweroff

viii.Gotostep 4.

b.AttheSSHcommandprompt,typethefollowingcommand:

poweroff

Thisactiondismountsthefilesystemandshutsdowntheservertostandbymode.

4.Ensurethattheserverhasshutdowntostandbymodebyverifyingthatthepower-onLEDontheoperatorinformationpanelonthefrontoftheserverisflashing.See Figure1.

6.Turnoffbothpowersupplyswitchesonthebackofthediskcontrollerorcontrollers.

7.Turnoffbothpowerswitchesonthebackofalldiskexpansionmodulesconnectedtothediskcontrollerorcontrollers.

8.Verifythatnoexternalsystemsareconnectedtoframepowersupplies.

9.SettheEmergencyPowerOff（EPO）switchonthefrontoftheframeorracktotheOFF（○）position.
