INTRODUCTION

ThisManualhasbeenwritteninaccordancewiththeOHSAS18001:

2007Standard.TheaimofthemanualistooutlinetheinternalproceduresinplacetoeffectivelycarryouttherequirementsoftheStandard.

TheOHSAS18001:

2007StandardwillbeimplementedonallCompanyundertakings.Thismanualwillbeadaptedandnewrevisionswillbemadeonceidentifiedorifandwhennewlegislationand/orworkproceduresdemandit,anyrevisionwilloverwriteanypreviousversions.

SUNTERLTDGENERALHEALTH&SAFETYSTATEMENT

SunterlimitedsubscribestotheHealth&SafetyPolicyinplaceandiscommittedtoimplementingandmaintainingaHealth&SafetySystemconformingtoOHSAS18001;2007throughoutthewholeofthecompany’sundertakingandatallofitspremisesandworksites.

SUNTERLTDHEALTH&SAFETYDIRECTION

Ouraimistomonitorandcontinuouslyimproveonourhealth&safetyperformance,andthecompanyiscommittedtoachievingthisby:

∙Complyingwithallrelevanthealth&safetyregulations,ACOPSandotherlegislativedocumentsand/orrequirements,codesofpractice,corporatepoliciesandprotocols,asaminimum.

∙Co-operatingwithClient,LocalAuthorityandHousingAssociationswithregardstoallaspectsthatcouldorhaveanadverseeffectonthehealth&safetyandtheprotectionofindividuals,groupsandproperty.

∙DevelopandimplementSafeWorkingPracticesinallundertakings,bytheprovisionofInformation,Instruction&SupervisiontoALLEmployeesaswellasContractorstaskedtocarryoutundertakingsonthecompany’sbehalf,thisisachievedbytheprovisionof:

RESPONSIBILITIES

ManagingDirector–ActingasSafetyDirector-Toprovidefundingand“TopManagement”responsibilitiestoensurethattheHealth&SafetySystemisimplemented.

Directors–ToassisttheManagingDirectorinhis“TopManagement”responsibilitiesandtoensureallManagersandotherStaffareawarethattheymustco-operateinInternalandExternalAuditsandimplementandmanageanyotheraspectsoftheStandard.

SafetyManager–Todevise,manage,maintainandimplementtheHealth&SafetySystemandtoinformtheDirectors/ManagingDirectoroftheirresponsibilitiesinensuringthesystemisfullycompliedwith.ToactastheLeadAuditorandscheduleInternalAuditsandliaisewiththeExternalAuditorinhis/herAuditrequirements.

InternalAuditors–TocarryoutInternalAuditstoensurethattheStandardisimplementedandup-todate.Reportanynon-conformitiesornon-co-operationtotheLeadAuditororCompanyDirector.

SiteManagers–Toensurethatanysiteundertheircontrolimplementsallrequirementsofthestandardandanynon-conformityareacteduponandreportedtotheSafetyManager.

SiteStaff–Toimplementallaspectsofthestandardduringtheirdailyworkduties,reportingtotheSiteManageranditem（s）thattheyfeelmayneedattentionoralteration.

StoresManager–Toensurethatallmaterialsarestoresinasafemannerandthatallhealth&safetyrequirementsareimplementedwithinthestoresandallstoresprocedures.

StoresStaff–TocomplywiththerequirementsandinstructionsgivenonHealth&SafetyissuesbytheStoresManageroranySeniorMemberofStaff.

OfficeManager–ToensurethatallrequirementsoftheStandardareimplementedwithintheofficeenvironment.

OfficeStaff–Tocomplywiththerequirementsandinstructionsgivenonhealth&safetyissuesbytheOfficeManageroranySeniorMemberofStaff.

GENERALPOLICYSTATEMENT

Ourpolicyistoprovideandmaintainsafeandhealthyworkingconditions,equipmentandsystemsofworkforallemployees.Wealsoacceptourresponsibilityforthehealthandsafetyofotherpeoplewhomaybeaffectedbyouractivities.

Thereforethecompanyacceptstheresponsibility:

i）Toprovideandmaintainsafeandhealthyworkingconditionsontheirpremisesandsitesofclients,takingaccountofrelevantstatutoryrequirements.

ii）Toprovidesuchtrainingandinstructionasmayberelevanttotheirparticularoperationstoassistemployeestoperformtheirworksafelyandefficiently.

iii）Tomakeavailablesuchsafetydevicesandprotectiveequipmentasmaybeappropriateandtosecurethesupervisionofthereuse.

iv）Tomaintainacontinuinginterestinhealthandsafetymattersapplicabletotheactivitiesinwhichtheyareinvolvedandformanagementtosetanexampleinsafebehaviour.

v）Thecompanywillactivelycarryoutriskassessmentsofallaspectsofthebusiness.

vi）Toensurethatallemployeesareawareoftheirresponsibilitieswithregardstoenvironmentalmatters.

Employeesofthecompanyhaveadutytoco-operateinthisobjective:

i）Byworkingsafelyandefficiently.

ii）Byproperlyusingsafetydevicesandprotectiveequipmentprovidedandbymeetingstatutoryobligations.

iii）Byreportingincidentswhichhaveledormayleadtoinjuryordamage.

iv）Byadheringtocompanyproceduresandobservinginstructionsdesignedtocontributetotheprotectionofhealthandsafety.

v）Byco-operatingintheinvestigationofaccidentswiththeobjectofintroducingmeasurestominimisethepossibilityofrecurrence.

1.PURPOSE

Theaimofthisprocedureistoidentifythehealth&safetyaspects,legalandotherrequirementsofitsactivities,productsandserviceswithinthedefinedscopeofthehealth&safetysystem,takingintoaccountplannedandnewdevelopments,ornewormodifiedactivities,productsandservices.Alsotodeterminethoseaspectsthathassignificantimpact（s）onthehealth&safetyofanyperson（s）ororganisationsthatcomeintocontactwiththecompany.

2.SCOPE

Thescopeoftheprocedureistoidentifyandplantheactivitiesthatthecompanyhave,andproduceadetailedactionplanthatcanbeimplementedandmaintainedtoensurethatthecompanyattainsandmaintainstheOHSAS18001;2007Accreditation.AnActionPlanwillbeproducedtodeterminethewayforwardintheimplementationoftheStandard.Objectives,targetsandprogramme（s）willbeimplementedwhererequired

3.PROCESS

PlanningoftheHealth&SafetyManagementSystemwillbeoverseenbytheManagingDirectorinconjunctionwiththeCompanyDirectors.ThedailyrunningandmanagingofthesystemwillbeoverseenbytheHealth&SafetyManager.
