本单元以“我们身边的人”为话题,主阅读篇章是呈现三篇介绍身边人物的学生习作,分别从外貌特征、性格、行为和品德等方面介绍不同的人物。

Thetopicofunit1isaboutPeoplearoundus.Thereadingpassageiscomposedbythreearticlesfromstudents’works.Thesearticlesareintendedforstudentstofurtherunderstandhowtodescribeapersonaroundthemaccordingtotheirappearance,personality,conductandcharacters.

Step3语言点详解

1.cheerful高兴的,快乐的

例:

近义词happy,glad

拓展:

--ful是一个形容词的后缀,某些动词或名词之后加--ful构成形容词,表示具有某种性质。

__helpful___(有帮助的)__thankful____(感激的)

___careful__(仔细的)__useful____(有用的)

2.hard-workingadj.复合形容词,peace-loving,life-long ,part-time

例:

3.patient两个意思,名词是“_病人_”,形容词是“__耐心的__”

例:

4.with介词,在文中表示“具有;带有”,构成介词短语作后置定语。

此处作可数名词,意为厨师。

6.forget(注意中度音节的位置)忘记,反义词是?

7.smell

(1)作为名词“气味”,Idon’tlikethesmellofbananas.

(2)作为行为动词,直接跟宾语,Smelltheperfume,doyoulikeit?

(3)作为系动词,直接加形容词的词,Themeatsmellsnice,buttastesterrible.

类似sound,look,taste,feel。

8.aswell意为“也”。

通常放在句末,相当于too。

例:

IcanspeakChineseandIcanspeakEnglishaswell.

辨析:

aswell,also,too和either

aswell

副词短语,多用于口语中,用于句末,前面通常不用逗号隔开

also

较正式,位置通常接近动词,不用于句末,常用于肯定句中

too

多用于口语中,位置常在句末,前面常有逗号隔开

either

用于否定句中,常用于句末。

在肯定句变成否定句时,其中的also,too,aswell都要变成either。

Eg:

9.takecareof意为“照顾,照料”,相当于__lookafter_,其中care做名词。

takegoodcareof相当于lookafter....well,表示“照顾好....”

10.miss想念,错过

例:

Imissmyclassmatesinmyprimaryschool.

Hemissedthetrain.

11.makefunof意为“取笑某人”,相当于“playjokesonsb”

例:

Don’tmakefunofyourclassmates.

12.SheisgoodatMaths.

begoodat意为“擅长;在.....方面做得好”,at后跟名词,代词或动名词。

与dowellin意思相近。

例:

I’mgoodatChinese.=IdowellinChinese.

Sheisgoodatswimming.=Hedoeswellinswimming.

13.remain仍然保持不变

Remain常作为系动词,后面跟名词或形容词作表语

例:

14.befullof意为“充满”

Thebottleisfullofwater.瓶子里装满了水。

Theroomisfullofsmoke.那个房间满是烟。

15.bestrictabout意为“对某事很严格”,但不是要做的。

bestrictin对做的某事很严格(强调是在做的)

bestrictwith.sb对某人很严厉,严格

例:

16.encourage鼓励;短语:

encouragesbtodosth

例:

Heencouragesmetostudyharder.

17.support(及物动词),支持,支撑。

例:

Heneedsoursupport,let’sgiveherahand.

Supportone’sbusiness支持某人的事业

18.giveup意为“放弃”,可接名词,代词或动名词做宾语。

例:

Wedidn’tgiveupthechance.Hegaveupsmoking.

giveup是“动词+副词”构成的短语,当宾语是代词时,只能放在give和up之间。

例:

Don’tgiveitup.
