NCtechnologyandNCequipmentmanufacturingindustryisanimportantfoundationformodernization.Thisisthebasisofastrongdirectimpactonthecountry'seconomicdevelopmentandcomprehensivenationalstrength,andbearingonacountry'sstrategicposition.Therefore,theworld'sindustrializedcountrieshavetakensignificantstepstodeveloptheirowntechnologiesandtheirindustrializationNC.
InChina,theCNCtechnologyandequipmentdevelopmenthasalsobeenahighdegreeofattentioninrecentyearshasmadeconsiderableprogress.Particularlyintheareaofgeneralcomputernumericalcontrol,PC-basedplatformfordomesticCNCsystems,hasbeenattheforefrontoftheworld.China,however,isinNCtechnologyresearchanddevelopmentindustriesalsohavemanyproblems,particularlyintheabilityoftechnologicalinnovationandcommercializationprocess,andotheraspectsofmarketshareisevenmoreconspicuous.Inthearrivalofthenewcentury,howtoeffectivelysolvetheseproblems,China'sNCareasalongthepathofsustainabledevelopment,fromtheoverallcomprehensiveenteredtheranksoftheadvancedworld,weintheinternationalcompetitioninapivotalposition,willbeNCresearchanddevelopmentdepartmentsandmanufacturersfacingtheimportanttask.
Toaccomplishthistask,firstofall,mustbeestablishedinlinewithChina'snationalconditionsanddevelopment.Therefore,thisarticlefromtheoverallstrategicandtechnicallevelandtwolineCNCsystem,functionalcomponents,NCcompletemachine,andseveralspecificaspectsofthedevelopmentinthenewcenturymeans.
1DevelopmentwithChinesecharacteristicsandanewgenerationofPCNCsystem
NCsystemisthecoreofalltypesofCNCequipment,firstthroughthedevelopmentofscientificandtechnologicalinnovationwithChinesecharacteristics,thenewNCsystem,willbetopromotetheindustrializationprocessofNCeffectivetechnicalmeans.
Practicehasproventhatthepast10yearswearemovinginthePCNCroadiscompletelycorrect.PCmachines(includingindustrialPC)outputisbig,cheap,technologicalprogress,andquicklyimproveperformance,andhighreliability(MTBFhostPCindustryhasreached30[3]).Therefore,asaCNCsystemwiththehardwareandsoftwareplatformcangreatlyimprovethecost-NCsystem,butalsomakefulluseofexistinggenericcomputerhardwareandsoftwareresourcesandsharingthelatestachievementsinthefieldofcomputers,suchaslargememorycapacity,high-colordisplay,multimediainformationexchange,networkingandcommunications.Inaddition,asthecommoncomputerplatformcanalsoaccessNCrapidtechnologicalprogress,whenPC-upgrading,NCsystemcanalsobecorrespondingupgradestomaintainlong-termtechnicaladvantagesinthecompetitiontobeinvincible.
Atpresent,thePCarchitectureCNCsystemcomesintwomainforms:
(1)forthefrontofthePCandNCcompositestructure;
(2)GeneralandPC-card-hierarchicalstructure.Anotheristhedevelopmentofanumberofdistributedarchitecture.DSPwillbeitsprogrammeriscomposedofdigitalservothroughthemedia,suchasfiberopticcablenetworktolinkupwiththeNCdevice,theNCformedacompletesystem.Althoughtheperformanceofthissystemisverygood,butbecauseofthehighcostsofdevelopmentandproduction,therecentdifficulttobeacceptedbydomesticusers.Webelievethattheabove-mentionedstructureisnotinlinewithChina'snationalconditionsthebestsolutiontoChina'snationalconditionsshouldbeallfull-functionCNCSoftware'sintegratedstructure,suchasthestructureofthesmallesthardware,andisconducivetolowersystemcosts,but,moreimportantly,caneffectivelyimprovethereliabilityofthesystem.
DecadesofexperienceshowthatthereliabilityofdomesticCNCsystemisgoodorbadcanthekeytodevelopment.AlthoughtheNCsystemreliabilityimpactofanumberoffactors,butthelarge-scalehardwareandthehardwaremanufacturerslowerlevelofreliabilitytendtoposethegreatestthreat.Previously,domesticCNCsysteminthedesign,thelimitforavarietyofreasons,donothavetousetoomuchtechnicalindicatorsordinaryCPU,so,forthecompletionofthecomplexfunctionNCoftenneedmoreCPUtocomponentsystems,andsometimesplussomespecialneedorcommonhardwarecircuitNCsystemtoachievereal-timehighofsomefunctions(suchassmallinterpolation,positionservocontrol,etc.),resultinginlarge-scalesystemhardware.NCsystemforsmallquantitiesofsuchproductsinthecountryundertheconditionsoftheexistingprocess,itisdifficultfromtheperspectiveofhardwaremanufacturersensurethatthereliabilityofthesystemAsaresult,domesticproductionintheNCsystematthepoorperformanceofthedomesticfewcontrolsystemtheimageandreputationofaseriousimpactmakesmanyusersnowalsofear.
Therefore,weinthedevelopmentofthenewNCsystem,priorityshouldbegiventoselectionofnewhigh-performanceCPU(suchasthehigh-speedPentiumII,PentiumIII,etc.)asasystemandcontrolcorecomputing,andsoftwaretoachieveasfaraspossibleallthefeaturesofNC.Thiscandrasticallyreducethesizeofthesystemhardware.Also,thesoftwaredesign,powersupplydesign,thedesignandselectionofconnectors,groundingandshieldingdesignandconstruction,suchastheadoptionofstronganti-nuisancehighreliabilitydesignandmanufacturingtechnology,andtherebyimprovethereliabilityofthesystem.
Sinceanewhigh-performanceCPUcanreplacedozensofordinaryCPU(suchasthe80286,80386,etc.),therefore,basedonthehigh-performanceCPUonthePCplatform,notonlycanfulfillthebasicfunctionsofCNCsystem(suchasinformationprocessing,knivesmeeting,interpolation,accelerationanddecelerationcontrol,etc.)andon-offcontrolfunction(PLCcontents),butalsotobecompletedservocontrolfunctions.Thus,beforethecompletionoftheDSPdigitalservocontrolfunctions(suchaspositioncontrol,speedcontrol,transformationvectorcontrol,etc.)fromaPCcanbecompletedintheCPU,thusrealizingthecontentsofservocontrols,whichnotonlyeffectivelyreducethesizeofthehardwarepartofNC,butalsosignificantlyreducetheservocontrolofthehardwarescale.
SuchcontentsPLCandservocontroloftheentirecontentsoftheintegratedsoftwareCNCsystem,thehardwarewillreachitsminimum,theentireCNCsystem,inadditiontoaPCplatform,theonlyremainingdriverofthesportsmachineinterfaceandfeedbackpowerinterface.Thisnotonlyeffectivelyimprovethereliabilityofthesystem,eliminatingthetransmissionofinformationbottlenecks,improvesystemperformance,butcanalsosignificantlyreducesystemcost,thesystem(includingmotor)totheexistingpricewillbeabouthalftheCNCsystem.Obviously,thishighperformance,highreliability,lowcost,thenewNCsystemishighlycompetitive,isexpectedtoopenupanewsituationinChinatocontributetoNC.
Inaddition,theintegrationofPCNCsystemthereisabigadvantage,thatiseasytoachieveopenarchitecture.Thisisbecausesuchasystemisthehardwareitselfhasbeencompletelyopen,openaCNCsystemcompletelyinsoftware,aslongastheproperformulationofstandardsandprotocols,informationprocessing,pathinterpolation,accelerationanddecelerationcontrol,Switchcontroltoservocontrolcanbeachievedandopeningup,thusgreatlyfacilitateuseraccess.
2NCcomponentsadvancingspecializedproduction
NCsystemtoresolvetheproblem,howtoachieveCNCmachinetooldesignandmanufactureofmodularmachinetoolmanufacturingenterprisesinChinaistherapidresponsetomarketdemand,competitionwonanotherkey.CNCmachinetoolstoachievethedesignandmanufactureofmodular,wemustsolvetheNCmachinetoolcomponentsofspecializedproduction.Chinainthisregardfromtheactualdemandthereisstillaconsiderablegap.Therefore,inthenextfewyears,wemustvigorouslypromotetheCNCmachinetoolcomponentsandthedevelopmentofspecializedproduction.Themainpointsareasfollows:
(1)Newpermanentmagnetelectricspindle,spindleunitsontheinternationalmarkethasbecomethemostpopularCNCmachinetoolfeatures.Butalmostalloftheseproductsforasynchronousinductiontype,presencefollowingmajorproblems:
①thererotorwindings,highcurrentflow,heatrotorseriousdirectimpactonthespindleprecision;②smallandlow-speedoutputtorqueripple,bedifficulttomeetthewiderangeofcuttingrequirements;③efficiencyandlowpowerfactor,notonlymotorsizeandweightrequirementsoftheinverterandalargecapacity,energyandmorecomplex④controlsystem,thehighcost.
(2)Cheap,high-performanceservosystemis,afeedACservosystem(motor+drive)pricesaregenerallyinthemillionmorethanthepriceaxisservosystemuptoafewmillion,hasbecomealowerdomesticCNCmachinetoolsthecostofamajorobstacle.Therefore,shouldbeinlinewiththenewintegrateddomesticCNCsystemdevelopment,vigorouslydevelopthecontentsofcheap,high-performanceservosystem.Thecontentsofthehardwareonlyservomotorandpowerinterface,andmakefulluseofChina'spermanentresourceadvantages,andspecializedproductionbythemotorcancostdown,andtheintelligentuseofIPMasapowermoduleinterfacesarecheap,willbethecontentsoffeedservocontrolinthepriceofseveralthousanddollarswithin,thecontentsofspindleservocontrolinthepriceoflessthan20,000yuan,itisentirelypossible.
