ThewholeworldiswatchingwithgreatinteresttheseachangesthataretakingplaceinChina,particularlyinShanghai.Thisisacountrywiththefastestgrowingeconomyintheworld.China’sriseasoneofthestrongesteconomicpowersintheAsia-pacificregionhasattractedagrowingnumberofbusinessandfinancialgiantsinourcountrytoinvestinChina,particularlytoinvestinanumberoflongtermprojectsinShanghaianditssurroundingareas.Overthelastfewyears,therehasneverbeenanyplaceotherthanPudongthatholdsomuchattractionforourpeopleinthebusinesscommunity.Itiswiththisawarenessthatwehavecomeheretoseekbetterwaysofpromotingoureconomicandfinancialcooperation.OneoftheobjectivesofmymissionistosignourInvestmentProtectionAgreement.IamalsoseekingpossibilitiesofestablishingthroughpartnershipwithourChinesecolleagues,consultancyservicesfortransnationalcorporationsinShanghai.
