J.No,wedon't.TherearehomeschoolersIknowthatdothat,becausethat'swhat'scomfortableforthem.Wedon'tdothat.Wehaveamuchmorerelaxedschedule.Wealltendtobenightowlsaroundhere,sowe'remoreofanightfamily.Sothekidsdon'tgetupoutofbedeventhatearly.It'salmost10o'clocknow.Theyprobablywon'tgetoutofbedforanotherhalfhourorso.

J.Andthenwedecidearewedoingchoresfirstthismorning,andthenschool,ortheotherwayaround.So,Itrytokeepalittlemorerelaxed.Idon'tuseagradingsystem.Ifyouknowthismaterial,wegoon.Ifyoudon'tknowit,wetrytofindadifferentwayofapproachingitsothatyoudolearnit.

R.JeanForbeshasarelaxedapproach.Infact,oneofthemajorargumentsagainsthomeschoolingisthatstandardssetbystatelawsaretoorelaxed.Notonestaterequiresparentstohaveateacher'scertificateoranundergraduatedegree.Only26statesrequirestudentstakeanannualstandardizedtest.
