ThisdocumentdescribestheContentdevelopmentintheIBURetail/CPfromthedevelopmentpointofviewandisintendedasanenhancementtotheSAPstandarddocumentation.Thisdocumentdoesnot,therefore,conformtotheusualSAPStandardsandGuidelinesforwritingstyle.Itshouldnotberegardedasexhaustive,anditwillnotnecessarilybeupdatedinsubsequentreleases.

R/3CoreReleases4.0B,4.5B,4.6Band4.6CaresupportedtoensurethatmasterandtransactiondatacanbeextractedfromtheoperationalR/3Systems.ThisismadepossiblebyanAddOndevelopment（Plug-Indevelopment2000.1）,whichispartofthePIandPI-A.ThisPlug-In（PI-Afor4.0Band4.5B;PIfor4.6Band4.6C）containsonlynewobjectsfortheNewDimensionProductSAPBW.ItdoesnotcontainanyobjectsthatarerequiredtoconnectanR/3SystemtoanAPOoraCRMSystem.

IntegratingthePI-ApacketintoanR/3Systemisaverysimpleprocess,asitinvolvesimportingonlynewobjects,anddoesnotaffectanystandardR/3objects.YouwillfindfurtherinformationonPlug-InsinSAPNetunder（Release&Maintenance:

TheContentDevelopmentforextractingmovementdataasdescribedinthisdocumentisindependentofRIS.ThereisnorelianceonRIScomponentssuchasRetaildataenhancementwithintheLogisticsInformationSystem（LIS）.ItisthereforeconceivablethatRIScanbedisconnectedaftersuccessfullymigratingdatafromRIStoBWthustransferringallrelevantstatisticaldatatotheBWsystem.

TheContentdevelopmentfor2.0BencompassesBWandPlug-Indevelopment（Plug-In2000.1）.

ThisdocumentistargetedprimarilyatconsultantsandatthosecustomeremployeeswhoareresponsibleforimplementingBWbasedontheMM,SDandRetailcomponents.

TheIBUContentdevelopmentdoesnotcoverlogisticsprocessesfromproduction,qualitymanagementorproductmanagement.Norhasanyindustry-specificContentbeendevelopedforotherR/3applications（suchasFI,CO,HR）.Instead,thesecoreareashavedevelopedCoreContent.

KnowledgeoftheoperationalprocessesinLogistics/Retail,theLogisticsInformationSystem（LIS）,andtheBusinessInformationWarehouse（SAPBW）areabsolutelynecessarytotheunderstandingofthisdocument.

1inthesourcesystemandintheBWSystem.AstheInfoSourcesweregiventhesamenameinbothsystems,thiswasdoneautomatically.FromBW2.0Aonwards,thisassignmentis1:

DuetothenewextractiontechnologyintheLogisticsapplicationsnewInfoSourcesandDataSourceswillbedeliveredwithBWRelease2.0B.ThesenewSourceswillreplacetheoldInfoSourcesandDataSources.OnlythenewInfo/DataSourceswillcontinuetobedeveloped.AprerequisiteforusingthenewSourcesisthatyourOLTPsystemsareinRelease4.0Borabove.Advantagesofthenewextractiontechnologyincludebetterperformance,moreflexibilityandlessCustomizing.Werecommendourcustomerstoswitchtothenewobjectsassoonaspossible.NewcustomersshouldusethenewInfoSourcesimmediatelyandignoretheoldobjects.TheInfoSourcestobereplacedwillbedeliveredwithBWRelease2.0B,buttheywillnotbedeliveredinlaterreleases（dependingontheobjectstobereplaced）.IfthecustomerhasalreadytransferredandactivatedtheobjectsfromtheBusinessContent,theseobjectswillnotbeaffectedinanywayandcanstillbeused.However,itwillnolongerbepossibletotransfertheseobjectsfromtheBusinessContentinalaterrelease.IfyouhaveenhancedInfoSourcesorTransfer-InfoStructures,youwillhavetocarryoutthesamechangestothenewInfoSources.Supportfortheobjectstobereplacedceaseswiththecloseofsupportforthereleaseinwhichtheywereshippedforthelasttime.

Thiseffects,inparticular,theInfoSourcesdeliveredforRelease2.0AthatarebasedonLISInformationStructures（S275-S279）.WiththeexceptionofS278,thesewouldbereplacedbynewInfoSourcesbasedonanewdataextractiontechnique.TheexistingInfoSources

2ProcessDescription

ThefirstrequirementformodelingLogisticsprocessesinSAPBWaskeyfiguresorkeyperformanceindicators（KPIs）wasthedevelopmentofcomprehensiveextractorsforthetransactiondata（movementdata）.ThisdevelopmentcoversPurchasing,InventoryManagementandSales&Distributionaswellasretail-specificapplicationsretailpricerevaluationandPOSdata.

Duetocontinuousoperationalprocessesinthesourcesystem（R/3OLTP）,documentsthatsupplydataforevaluationsinadatawarehouseareconstantlybeingcreated.
