Foreightyears,ithasbeenmyhonortoserveasyourPresident.Thefirstdecadeofthisnewcenturyhasbeenaperiodofconsequence-atimesetapart.Tonight,withathankfulheart,IhaveaskedforafinalopportunitytosharesomethoughtsonthejourneywehavetraveledtogetherandthefutureofourNation.

今晚，我带着一颗感恩的心来到这里，并且我希望你们能给我最后一次机会，因为我想和你们分享我对过去八总统生涯的想法，以及我对国家未来的展望。

　　Overthepastsevenyears,anewDepartmentofHomelandSecurityhasbeencreated.Themilitary,theintelligencecommunity,andtheFBIhavebeentransformed.OurNationisequippedwithnewtoolstomonitortheterrorists'movements,freezetheirfinances,andbreakuptheirplots.Andwithstrongalliesatourside,wehavetakenthefighttotheterroristsandthosewhosupportthem.AfghanistanhasgonefromanationwheretheTalibanharboredalQaedaandstonedwomeninthestreetstoayoungdemocracythatisfightingterrorandencouraginggirlstogotoschool.IraqhasgonefromabrutaldictatorshipandaswornenemyofAmericatoanArabdemocracyattheheartoftheMiddleEastandafriendoftheUnitedStates.

　　在过去的7年中，我们成立了新的国土安全部。

我们的军队，军事情报部门，以及FBI都进行了改革。

我经常谈及善恶问题，这令一些人颇感不适。
