Abstract:

Thepaperanalyzestwotypicalfailureformsofrollerandconveyoratthebeltconveyor,anddescribesthemaintenancemethodsofpreventionandeliminationfailurestoensurethenormaloperationofbeltconveyor.

1.Introduction:

Beltconveyorisacommonlyusedequipmentofcontinuoustransport,ithasahighefficiencyandlargeconveyingcapacity,simplerconstruction,smallamountofmaintenance.Canbeachievedatdifferentdistances,differentmaterialstransportation.Itisswidelyusedinmining,coalhandlingsysteminthermalpowerplantandotherprojects.Beltconveyorwilloftenoccursometypicalproblemsinthecourse,thispaperBasedonresearchcommontypicalfailureofbeltconveyorduringuse,analysisthecauseoffailure,proposedsomeeffectivemethodstosolvetheproblem.

2.Typicalfaultsofconveyorbelt:

2.1.Conveyorbeltdeviation

Inthebeltconveyor,astheconveyorbeltistractioncomponents,transmitpowerandmotion,alsoiscarryingcomponents,supportmaterialload.Workingmorecomplex,soatworkoftenhappenbeltdeviation.Deviationistheconveyorbeltduringoperation,thecenterlineofbeltdeviationthecenterlineofconveyor.Astheconveyorbeltdeviationmaycausebetweenthebeltedgeandrackwear,causebeltedgeprematuredamage,Rangingimpactthelifeofconveyors,affectthethroughputofmaterials,Weightiscausedbywithdrawalmaterial,evenhappenstopoccurrence,directimpactonproduction.Astheconveyorbeltismoreimportant,themostexpensiveparts.Itspriceabout25%~50%totheconveyor.Soanalysisthereasonsofbeltdeviation,reduceandeliminatebeltdeviation,Itisanimportantpartofensurebelttowork,extendequipmentlife.Causethebeltoccursdeviationbecauseofthefollowingfactors.

2.1.1.Inthedeviceitself

a.Rackrigidispoor,largedeformationunderload,causingthebeltdeviation.

b.Thelargererrorofrolleroutercylindrical,causeddeviationwhentheconveyorbeltrunning.

c.Thesupportingrollerrotationisnotflexible,causestheconveyorbeltbothsidesstresstobeuneven,causestheconveyorbeltdeviation.

d.Theparallelismerrorcylindricalaxisandrolleraxisistoobig,causestheconveyorbeltdeviation.

e.Conveyorbeltitselfisquestionablequality,thinandthickuneven,causedashockleadrunningconveyorbeltdeviation.

f.Conveyorbeltmanufacturingqualityhavedefects,thelengthofbeltbothsidesedgeisinconsistent,causerunningconveyorbeltdeviation.

g.Notparallelwithbeltconnector,connectionerroristoobig,causebeltdeviation.

2.1.2.Installationadjustment

a.Drive,changerolleraxisandconveyorcenterlineverticalerroristoobig,makeconveyorandhorizontallinehaveabigrinclination,causebeltdeviation.

b.Rolleraxisandconveyorcenterlineverticalerrorisbig,willcausebeltdeviationalso.

c.Theconnectionstrengthbetweenrackandgroundisnotenough,therackunstable,causingbeltdeviation.

d.Thefeedingplateofdischargetroughandimproperlylocated,bothsidesoftheconveyorbeltunevenforcecausebeltdeviation.

2.1.3.Withmaintenance

a.Thecleaningperformanceofsweeperispoor,maketherollercylindricaldiameterlocalincreases.

b.Feedingmouthlocationiswrong,sothatthematerialpartialloadontheconveyorbelt,causebeltdeviation.

c.Poormaintenanceandimproperadjustment,resultingintheconveyorbeltdeviation.

d.Forthesteelcordbelt,asthemanufactureofsteelcordisunevenforce,sothatadeviationoccursintheoperation,orastrongdifferenceofbelt,largeelongationunderload,causingthevibration,thebeltwilldeviation.

e.Also,thevibrationofrunningconveyorbeltsystemcancausethedeviation.

f.Inaddition,whenconveyingsomeviscousmaterial,maketheroller,etc.bondingmaterials,makethecylindricaldiameterofrollerpartincreases,causingbeltdeviation.

2.2.Measurestopreventthebeltdeviation

2.2.1.Duetoequipmentinthemanufactureofconveyorbeltcausesthedeviation,primarilythroughimproveddesign,manufactureprecisiontopreventandreducetheoccurrenceofconveyorbeltdeviation.

2.2.2.Forinstallationadjustimproperanddailyusecausesdeviation,mainlythefollowingaspectsshouldbeconsidered:

Conveyorbeltindriverolleroronrearrollersdeviation,usuallybyadjustingthepositionoftherollerbearingwaystoeliminate,usuallybyadjustingthepositionoftherollerbearingwaystoeliminate.

a.Thelongitudinalcenterlineoftherollerrotationaxisandconveyorisnotperpendicular,resultingintheconveyorbeltonesidelooseandtheothertight,beltmovefromthetightsidetothelooseside,Occursdeviationphenomenon.Shouldbeadjustedbearingpositionofthetightendeviationside.Makehorizontalpullofbeltequal,eliminatedeviation.Whentailrollerisspiraltensioning,thereasonsoftaildeviationmaybeduetothetoptightpoweroftensioningdevicebothsidesscrewrodarenotequal,resultingincausedbyimbalance.

b.Cylinderaxisisnothorizontal,atbothendsbearingoftheheightdifferenceiscauseanotherreasonofheadortaildeviation.Atthispoint,atbothendsrollerbearingshouldaddandsubtractshimswaytolevelingrolleraxis,toeliminateconveyorbeltdeviation.

c.Rollersurfaceadhesionmaterial,equivalenttoincreasingtherollerlocalrdiameter,willcausetheconveyorbeltdeviation,shouldstrengthenemptysegmentcleaningofconveyorbelttoreducetheadhesivematerialordustaccumulationontheconveyorbelt.Inaddition,theconveyorbeltbetweenthenoseandtailpartsdeviation,calledcentralorlocaldeviation.Suchdeviationreasonsismorecomplex,itiswiththeconveyorbeltalongdeviceexposuretoarelationship.Needadetailedanalysisforspecificissues.Usingthefollowingmethodscanresolvetheseissues.

A.Loadorno-loadbranchrolleraxiswiththeconveyorbeltrunningcenterlineisnotperpendicular,causingtapeattherollerdeviation.Deviationendsshouldadjustmenttotheconveyorbeltrunningdirection.Atthistimeoftenneedtoadjusttheadjacentgroupsofrollersinordertoachievethepurposeofeliminatingdeviation,adjustingdeviationangleshouldnotbetoobig.

B.Conveyorbeltjointwiththetapecenterline(trumpet)isnotperpendicular,tocausethedeviation,Shouldimprovedinstallationconnectionaccuracytoeliminatedeviation.

C.Ifmaterialloadedontheconveyorbeltisstraight;makethematerialblockandweightdistributionalongbandwidthdirectiondistributionseriousinequality,causedeviation,throughadjustmentblankingtubeandskirtplatelocationmethodtobeeliminated.

D.Recently,itwassuggestedthatthemethodofapplicationfilmfortransferpartialconveyorbelt,becauseofhighmanufacturingcostsandsometechnicalproblemsnotwellsolved,makesthismethodverydifficulttopromotetheuse.

3.Thetypicalfailureofroller:

3.1.Operationisnotflexible

Eachbeltconveyorhavelotnumberrollers,installationshowninPicture1,theirworkstatusdirectlyaffectstheconveyorisworking.Accordingtotheactualworkofconveyor,rollerintheconveyorsystemcanbeclassifiedfourkindsaccordingtheirefect,troughroller,parallelroller,bufferrollerandself-aligningroller;accordingtotheloadscasecanbedividedtwokinds,no-loadrollerandbearingroller.Troughrollerusebearingbranchesofmaterials,playasupportingroleandincreasedthroughputrole.

Parallelrollerisalong-shapedroller,forno-loadbranchofconveyor,toplayasupportingroleofno-loadbranchtape;bufferrolleristroughrollertoo.Flexiblesupporttroughrollerbeinstalledonconveyorloadbranch,Installedinthematerialoffice.Reducetheimpactofmaterialforconveyorbelt,protectthetapeandsupportbearing.Generallybasedontheelasticsupportweredividedintorubberringandspringplate;theroleofself-aligningrollerisacertaindegreeofautomaticadjustmentofconveyorbeltdeviation,Toavoidexcessivewearofbeltandmaterialsscattered.Intheloadandno-loadbranchareequippedwithanumberofself-aligningroller.Theself-aligningprincipleshowninFig.2..

Manufactureinstallationqualityofrollerdirectlyaffectthelifeandrunningresistanceofconveyorbelt.rollerrepairandreplacementcostsarealsoanimportantpartofconveyorbeltoperatingexpenses.Therolleroperationqualityforconveyoroftherunningresistance,powerconsumption,rollerandbeltlife,maintenanceworkloadandcostoftransportationhasasignificantimpact.Therefore,analysismethodtoextendtheservicelifeofrollers,alsoanimportantcontentstoensurestableoperationofbeltconveyor,practicalsignificanceinengineering.Troughrollerofbeltconveyorsystemsusedonmaterialbearingbranch,playsupportingroleandincreasedthroughputrole.Parallelrollerisalong-shapedroller,forno-loadbranchofconveyor,toplayasupportingroleofno-loadbranchtape;bufferrolleristroughrollertoo.Flexiblesupporttroughrollerbeinstalledonconveyorloadbranch,Installedinthematerialoffice.Reducetheimpactofmaterialforconveyorbelt,protectthetapeandsupportbearing.Theroleofself-aligningrollerisacertaindegreeofautomaticadjustmentofconveyorbeltdeviation,Toavoidexcessivewearofbeltandmaterialsscattered.Intheloadandno-loadbranchareequippedwithanumberofself-aligningroller.Ifrollerappearrotatingnotflexibleornotturningphenomenon.Thedragcoefficientofrolle
