ButateamofresearchersworkingattheU.S.DepartmentofEnergysaysithascreatedakindofplasticthatcouldleadtoproductsthatare100percentrecyclable.TheteamrecentlyreportedthediscoveryinastudyinthejournalNatureChemistry.Tneresearcherssaythenewmaterialisaplasticpolymer(聚合物)calledpolydiketoenamine,orPDK.Theteamreportsthatthematerialcanbebrokendowninpartsatthemolecular(分子)level.Itcanthenbebuiltupagaintoformplasticsofdifferentshapes,textures,colorsandmore.Theresearcherssaythisprocesscanberepeatedoverandoveragain—withouttheplasticmateriallosinganyperformanceorquality.
