Description

Thisdocumentbrieflydescribestheonephasereliefvalvecalculationspreadsheet,whichwillbethestandardreliefvalvecalculationtoolofLGN.ThecalculationmethodusedinthisspreadsheetisbasedoncalculationmethodsasgiveninAPI520part1(7thed.,2000,page41-56).Itisstronglyrecommendedtoreadthesepagesbeforeonestartswiththecalculations.AllcalculationsaredoneinSIunits.

VALVESELECTION

Whentherequiredsizehasbeencalculated,thevalveisselectedbasedonAPI526(seetable1).Thevalvetypesarestandardtypes.Forhigh-pressuresystemsadifferentvalvenumberfromtheonesgivenmayberequired.Thismustbecheckedbytheuser.

Iftherequiredareaisgreaterthanthatofa8T10sizemultiplevalveswillbespecified.Alldataconcerningselectedareaandmaximumflowthroughselectedreliefvalvewillthenbebasedononevalve.
