AtthebeginningofWorldWarII,JacquelinetrainedwomeninEnglandaspilots.ShelatercamebacktotheUnitedStatesandtrainedAmericanwomen,too.In1945,.shereceivedtheDistinguishedServiceMedal,oneofAmerica'shighesthonors(荣誉).

Whenjetplaneswereinvented,Jacquelinelearnedtoflythem,too.Soon,shewasthefirstwomantoflyfasterthanthespeedofsound.Jacquelinealsosetmanyotherrecordsinthefieldofaviation,includingflyinghigherthananyonehadbeforeher.
