“「期刊网」目前主要收录在香港及澳门出版的中文及双语期刊，内容方面以人文科学及社会科学为主。

引用的期刊共超过三百种；大部份期刊之索引数据从一九八零年开始，但重要之学术期刊则从创刊号开始。

收录最早之期刊为香港第一份中文刊物《遐迩贯珍》（一八五三年八月一日出版），故此库内资料的年份跨逾一个半世纪。
