TheHIMAPESdescribedhereconsistsoftheH41qandH51qsystemfamilies.Bothsystemfamiliesarebasedonthesamehardwareandsoftware,andtheyarethethirdgenerationofthefield-provenHIMAPEStocontrolpreferablyprocessengineeringplants.PCs(PADT*areusedforprogramming,configuration,datalogging,operationandtrendrecording.
Digitalandanaloginputscanbeprocessed.Someinputmodulesaredesignedforintrinsicallysafecircuitsaswellasforelectricpositionsensors(proximityswitchesaccordingtoDINEN60947-5-6.Digitalandanalogoutputsarealsoavailable.
TheHIMAPESareinstalledin19-inchessubracks.TheH41qsystemfamilyisacompactsys-temconsistingofonesubrack,holdingallcomponentssuchascentralunit,interfaceexten-sions,communicationmodules,powersupplies,fusingandpowerdistribution,aswellasinput/outputmodules.
TheH51qsystemhasamodularstructure.Acentralrackcontainsthecentralunit(s,interfaceexten-sions,communicationmodules,monitoringandpowersupplies,anditcanhaveupto16associatedinput/outputsubracks.

TheHIMAPESoftheH41qandH51qsystemfamiliesconsistof19inchessubracksforcentraldevices5HUandmodulesforbinaryandanaloginput/outputsignalswhichareassembledinH51qsystemswithin19inchessubracks,4HU.
TheHIMAPESusePCs(PADTswiththetoolELOPIIforprogramming,configuration,mon-itoring,operationanddocumentation.TheentryoftheuserprogramandthecompilationintothemachinecodeismadeonlyonthePCwithoutconnectedPES.Toload,testandtomonitorthePESthePCisconnectedviaaserialinterfaceRS485orabussystemtothePES.
