Thisexampledemonstratestheuseofthe"deepcrack"capabilityinZENCRACKwithbothsidesofthecrackmodelled.Inthistypeofanalysis,inadditiontoinsertingcrack-blocksintothemesh,ZENCRACKseparatesotherstandardelementstoformpartsofthecrackface.

Theexampleconsistsofasimplemeshofasquareplateunderprescribedendloading（displacementboundarycondition）.Thefullplateismodelledeventhoughthegeometryandloadingissymmetric.AschematicofthegeometryandloadingisshowninFigureQA16-1.
