ABSTRACT
Withthedeepeningofthetrendofeconomicmarketizationandglobalization,thebusinesscontactsrelatedtoforeigneconomyandtradeareincreasinglyfrequentaswell.Asthecarrierofinternationalcommunication,businessEnglishletterisacombinationofEnglishwritingandinternationaltradebusiness,hasbeenwidelyusedinallaspectsofdailylifeandroutinework.Itisdifferentfromordinaryletterswhichhasitsownlanguage,content,manner,formatsuniquestylisticfeaturesthatcarryoutforeigneconomicandtradebusinessandrelatedbusinessactivitiesoftheimportantmeans,fortherealizationoftheglobalizationoftradewhichhasplayedapositiveroleinpromotingit.ThispaperdiscussesandanalyzesthelinguisticcharacteristicsofvocabularyandsentencesinbusinessEnglishletterwritingtohelplearnersbettergrasptheusageofvocabularyandsentencesinbusinessEnglishletterwriting.

Thefirststageofdevelopmentofforeigntradecorrespondencewasprobablyfromthemiddleandlate18thcenturytotheperiodbeforetheWorldWarII.Withthedevelopmentofinternationaltrade,itiswidelyused.Themainfeaturesofforeigntradecorrespondenceinthisperiodare:
intermsofvocabulary,anumberoflargewords,loanwords,legaltermsandnominalstructuretoreflectitsformality.

TheseconddevelopmentstageofforeigntradecorrespondenceisfromtheperiodaftertheWorldWarIItothe1970sand1980softhe20thcentury,whichisalsotheformingperiodofthebasicstyleofmodernforeigntradecorrespondence.Duringthisperiod,thereweregreatchangesinthestyleofforeigntradecorrespondence,presentinganewstyle.Themostsignificantchangeisthepracticalfunctionofcorrespondence.Theaccuracyandefficiencyofinformationtransmissionrequiredbyinternationaltradeareputinthefirstplace,whichhighlightsitsprofessionalism.
