F.ScottFitzgerald,bornonSeptember24,1896,anAmericannovelist(小说家)),wasonceastudentofSt.PaulAcademy,theNewmanSchoolandattendedPrincetonUniversityforashortwhile.In1917hejoinedthearmyandwaspostedinAlabama,wherehemethisfuturewifeZeldaSayre.Thenhehadtomakesomemoneytoimpressher.

 However,Fitzgerald’sproblemswithhiswifeZeldahadaneffect(影响)onhiswriting.Duringthe1920shetriedtoreorderhislife,butfailed.By1930,hiswifehadherfirstbreakdownandwenttoaSwissclinic.DuringthisperiodhecompletednovelsTenderIstheNightin1934andTheloveofthelastTycoonin1940.WhilehiswifewasinhospitalintheUnitedStates,hegottotallyaddictedto(沉迷于)alcohol(酒精).SheilaGraham,hisdearfriend,helpedhimfighthisalcoholism.
