WhiletheRubyRomannameisusedtodescribeatypeofgrapes,everybunchmustmeetverystrictstandards.Foreample,everygrapeinthebunchmustweighatleast20gramsandhaveasugarcontentofatleast18percent.ThereisalsoaPremiumclassofRubyRomangrapes—eachgrapemustweighover30grams,andthewholebunchmustbeatleast700gramsheavy.

MostbunchesofRubyRomangrapesaresoldthroughauctions(拍卖),butPremiumRubyRoseareetremelydifficulttofind.Foreample,in2010,onlysibunchesofgrapeswerecertifiedPremium,andin2011nobunchesqualifiedforit.
