EugeneThetraditionthater,wasmostimportanttomewasprobablySummerEights.Iwasarower.AndSummerEightsisarowingcompetition,heldinMayinthesummerterm.Andinthiscompetition,eachcollegeistryingtoimproveitsplacewhichitwonthepreviousyearandgraduallyworkitswayuptheriver.
JulieWhenthestudentstakeexams,theymustgotoaspecialbuildingandit'scalledExaminationSchools.Andalsotheymustwearaspecialuniform,sotheyweare.gownlikemine,ablackgown,andtheywearawhiteshirt,aridthemenwearawhitetieandblacktrousers.Thewomenwearawhiteshirtandablackskirtorblacktrousers.Andtheymustwearthisuniform,whichhasaLatinname-subfuse—andtheymustwearthisuniforminordertotaketheirexaminations.
EugeneIthinktheOxfordtraditionslendcharactertotheplaceandit'ssuchanoldinstitution,itshouldhavetraditions,buttheycanbeveryinconvenient.Forexample,subfuse.Thisistheuniformthatwearerequiredaccordingtotheuniversityrules,towear.

ProfessorTherecertainlyis,yes.OriginallytheIvyLeaguereferredtothesportsteamsfromtheuniversitieswhichcompetedagainsteachother,especiallyinfootball,basketballandicehockey.Nowsometimestheseuniversities,institutions,chosetheirstudentsonthebasisoftheirskillsattheseparticularsports.Butinthelast50years,IvyLeagueschoolshaveacceptedawiderrangeofstudentsbecauseitwasn'tpossibletobebothworld-famousforresearchandalsotopclassinsport.
