ScoreChoice™Overview
Designedtoreducestudentstressandimprovethetest-dayexperience,ScoreChoice™isascore-reportingfeaturethatgivesstudentstheoptiontochoosetheSAT®scoresbytestdateandSATSubjectTestscoresbyindividualtestthattheysendtocolleges,inaccordancewitheachinstitution’sstatedscore-usepractice.ScoreChoiceisoptional,andifstudentschoosenottouseit,allscoreswillbesentautomatically.
Differentcollegesusetestscoresindifferentways,andwerecognizethataone-size-fits-allapproachtocollegeadmissionsdoesnotreflectthediverseneedsofcollegesanduniversities.TheCollegeBoardhasenabledparticipatingcollegestodisplaytheirSATscore-usepracticesdirectlytostudentson.Thisinformationwillbepresentedatthetimethatstudentsareaskedtosendscores.
Studentswillbeencouragedtofollowthescore-reportingrequirementsofeachcollegetowhichtheyapply,buttheirscoreswillnotbereleasedforadmissionpurposeswithouttheirspecificconsent.Collegesanduniversitieswillonlyreceivethescoresthatstudentssendthem.
Inordertohelpstudentsmakeaninformedchoiceaboutthescorestheysend,we’vecollectedSATscore-usepracticesfromeverycollege,universityorscholarshipprogramthatchosetoprovideuswiththerequestedinformation.

1.TheSATscore-usepracticesreferencedinScoreChoicematerialsarebasedoninformationprovidedtousbyonlyparticipatingcollegesorscholarshipprograms.
2.ThedescriptionofaparticularSATscore-usepracticemightnotincludeeveryaspectofhowaninstitutionorprogramusesastudent’sscore.Additionally,SATscore-usepracticesforaparticularcollegeorscholarshipprogrammaychangeperiodicallyandmaynotbeautomaticallyupdatedinthescore-reportingsystem.Therefore,werecommendthatstudentscheckwiththecollegeorscholarshipprogramtowhichtheyaresendingSATscorestoconfirmitsSATscore-usepracticefortheacademicyearforwhichtheyplantoapply.
