IntroductionThis paper also discusses the application of the Five-step teac

5、hing method in primary school English classroom and calls for the correct application of the Five-step teaching method to primary school English classes can arouse students interest in English and improve their English level.The Five-step Teaching Methods has a positive impact on the application of

6、Primary school English classroom, and it is helpful for pupils learning English. At present, the primary school classroom English classroom have a lot of problems. For example The knowledge of obsolescence, the teaching methods is boring, the teaching method of classroom walk the chalk,step-by-step,

7、 lack of innovation and the students hasnt an interest in learning English. The paper attempts to apply the Five-step methed for primary school English classes ,it want to change the teaching methods and makes the classroom atmosphere lively, it can guide the students how to learn English actively a

8、nd make the students have an interested in English. The teaching method can cultivate students creative thinking and cooperative consciousness. The Five-step method was proposed by Dewey. The Five-step have five points: Frist,the teacher provides the child with a context connected to the social life

9、 experience; Secondly, Children prepare to deal with problems that appear in situations; Next, the Five-step teaching method makes children think and make assumptions about problem solving. Then, children sort out and arrange their own problem-solving assumptions. Finally, children test these hypoth

10、eses by applying them. This teaching process in the history of education is commonly known as the five -step method. From Deweys point of view, in this teaching process, the children can learn creative knowledge to cope with needs.2. Origin of Deweys MethodThe process of Dewey teaching is children t

11、hrough hand-on practice, the process of exploring acquiring experience ,at the same time it also childrens think about development.This process is exactly the same as that of the scientists engaged in scientific research. All thinking that takes into account things not previously known is creative.

12、Theoretical exploration must start from direct experience to the material and take the empirical material as the end. The theory can be inserted into the middle of a long syllogism, many parts of which depart from direct experience. Since processof the teaching is individual practice and it must sta

13、rt from direct experience and end up with direct experience. Since process of teaching is also the development thinking, therefore the start of stimulateing childrens thinking activities. Dewey that believe the development of childrns thinking generally goes through five stages. Frist,the teacher pr

14、ovides the child with a context connected to the social life experience; Secondly, children are prepare to deal with problems that appear to situations; next, make the children thinking and make assumptions about problem solving. Then, make children to sort out and arrange their own problem-solving

15、assumptions. Finally, children test these hypotheses by applying them3. The theoretical foundation of the Five-step Method3.1 The stimulation of Childrens interest in English learningUsing the Five-step teaching methods in primary school English classes,it can cultivate students interest in learning

Practice is necessary in language a foreign language and it is the core of the Five-step method, there are many ways to practice in learning English, the students are able to different from practice ways and get to how to learn English and get different learning English skills. For example

17、, the warm-up can cultivate students interest in learning English. Some games can be used in class to guide students interest in learning English and cultivate students creative thinking and strengthen their cooperation consciousness. Deepen students impression of what they have learned in class. In

18、 class, students can use performance to have a good command of text, enhance the ability to learn words and expressions, improve students oral expression ability. The use of “play” makes students change from passive learning to active learning, make the boring classes become lively.3.2 The cultivati

19、on of learning habits and self- study abilityThe first step in the Five-step method is review, the content of the review USES the language materials learned in daily communication, pronunciation, intonation vocabulary and so on. Review way by asking questions. Through the review of the way to cultiv

20、ate the students thinking ability, improve eloquence and develop a self-study habit. The core of the Five-step method is practice. In the process of practice, teachers can practice in groups,or do some games , it makes the student pay attention to learn lecture and cultivate the students thinking ab

21、ility, actively participate in the classroom activities, and it can also develop the student cooperation conciousness. The second part of the Five-step method is introduction of new material. The introduction of new materials often use material object, picture prompt, action and action demonstration

22、 or other ways to practice. In class, teachers can also use some videos, English songs and so on to guides students to learn. So that students can get good learning effect. In the use of new materials, teachers can also use models to import the content learned in class, and also use singing to guide

Current situation of childrens English teaching and the application of Five-step teaching methods4.1 Current situation4.1.1 Emphasis on grammar education, neglect of oral trainingAt present,the curren

27、t situation of English teaching is “grammar teaching”, so in the process of the teachers teaching, the teacher attach importance to new words and sentence. When the teacher analysize textbook knowledge, the teacher just can analysize sentence grammar. Most of the teachers can echo what the books say

28、 for grammar. For grammar to instill children are afraid of learning English, and the students are not interested in learning English. On the other hand ,the pupils lack of oral practice and listening practice , the students are poor in English in primary school. English learning is only in the theo

29、ry and lack of practice.4.1.2 Lack of Knowledge and obsolescenceThe teachers teaching method is single. In the countryside, the educational facilities are not complete and teachers English level isnt high. Through the observation and analysis of English teaching in primary school, it is found that t

30、here are some problem in teaching, such as unclear teaching objectives the process of teaching is unsystematic and the teaching organization is undisciplined. In the most teaching of English classes, teachers still use the traditional teaching content, methods and forms , even if different students

Each students growing environment, family education philosophy and way are different, which determines that different students have different personality and learning basis, the students have different learning ability. In the process of teaching the teac

32、hers doesnt pay attention to this difference, according to it is impossible to teach students with their actual situation, the teachers reads in front of the textbook in class, or the teachers just teach the textbook knowledge . When the teacher teaches , they just read the words mechanically and re

So the students learn knowledge is not creative and obsolete.4.1.3 Lack of teaching interestThere are still many teachers who believe that the teacher pass on knowledge is to race against time.It can improve the teaching effect.
