People are enthusiastic about learning English .As a result, English teaching and reform are coming to a turning point, which predicts a bright future in English education in China.Now, a 9-year voluntary education program is put forward in Chin

3、a. A Standard English course is being used to replace the former teaching outline. The new standard adopts the international system according to which English language education is divided into 9 levels. This has changed the old style of teaching, which attaches importance to grammar and vocabulary.

4、 Adopting the new standard helps to develop the students ability to use English in their daily life, by focusing on arousing their interest, and encouraging their participation.The new method will place less stress on “reading and writing”, in favor of “listening” and “speaking”. So now, speaking is

This paper discusses how to improve students speaking ability and expound the theme through three aspects as follows: The importance of speaking. Some barriers in the process of speaking communication. Essential methods for improvin

12、 in various fields -especially in the new century. As is known to us all, it is the most widely used language in the world and its getting more and more important nowadays. Recent estimates suggest that more than 400 million people speak it as their first language, with more than 1800 million people

13、 speaking it as second language. It is an official language in a large number of countries and is widely used in air traffic control and academic gatherings. (Kean Qiu P28). As an international language, English is an important tool to communicate with foreigners. With the globalization and more ext

14、ensive communication with the outside world English oral communication appears more and more important. However, oral proficiency is the weakest among the basic four skills for most Chinese English learners, which is an urgent problem to be addressed. Chinese teachers should discard the old and trad

15、itional teaching methods in English class and try to find effective ways to improve oral English teaching. Meanwhile, Chinese students also have to change their conception on learning English.“Communicative ability of spoken English is to use English thought and information transmission of communica

16、tive language ability. Theoretically speaking, oral English communication is the learner through listening and reading to acquire knowledge, including language knowledge and information, it is a language input (Input) process, after thinking for the input language and information processing (Process

20、nglish Speaking of Chineses StudentsChinese students have to learn English in Chinese-speaking environment, in addition to the situation that there are only a limited number of English classes every week, having little opportunities to speak English in class, a listening and speaking training is als

21、o difficult to get consolidate and review in extracurricular. While only a few English lessons are enough to acquire the language knowledge (including grammar, reciting words), not to speak of the time and space to practice speaking. Because the teaching is exam-oriented, there is just monotonous ex

22、ercise drilling. the classroom students say the lack of space, form is relatively activity. Some English classes into listening, lecture, let the students practice language, reciting sentences and text, but also in the different teaching links, teaching of different phase of convergence, the selecti
