Forty-eight of them are in the single reg

7、ion between Canada and Mexico; this group is referred to, as the continental or contiguous United States. Two of the 50 states, Alaska (a state in northwestern North America) and Hawaii (a state in the central Pacific on the Hawaiian Islands), are not contiguous with any of the other states. In the

8、past few years, weve seen or heard many of the worlds events which have something to do with the US, such as the September 11 attacks, Iraqi war, Kartrina Hurricane, etc. Today we are going to learn more about this powerful country.
