It only covers actions specific to the installation of iScala 2.2 products. Instructions are also provided on h
2、ow to convert your database to the latest iScala 2.2 format. The document does not cover iScala 2.2 products functionality. Once installed, iScala 2.2 systems provide you with access to online help documentation, which will guide you to the relevant information. For greater efficiency when installin
3、g iScala 2.2 products, please refer to the latest release information. There you will find the minimum requirements for supported platforms, including software and hardware requirements. Installation Procedure Overview Once iScala 2.2 is installed on your server, run it, press the F1 key in the iSca
4、la window, and refer to the appropriate section of the iScala Documentation Kit to get complete installation instructions. Important: For hardware and software requirements, refer to the relevant document in the README release documentation. These instructions cover the routine installation of the i
5、Scala 2.2 products: iScala Business Server, iScala Enterprise Server, and iScala Developer. They are only specific to the installation of iScala 2.2 products.The instructions in this document deal with the routine installation of iScala 2.2 on the Server, iScala 2.2 Client on the workstation, and/or
6、 the upgrade of your Scala or iScala systems from previous versions, including a description of the conversion process to the latest iScala 2.2 database format. When installation involves the upgrading of your Scala systems or iScala systems from previous versions, follow the instructions found unde
7、r Converting Scala Database to iScala 2.2 Format. For greater efficiency when installing iScala 2.2 products, refer to the latest release information specifying the minimal requirements for supported platforms, including software and hardware requirements. When installing iScala 2.2 products, you ma
8、y come across the following installation types: New installation of iScala 2.2 products Upgrade from previous versions of iScala products Upgrade from different versions of Scala 5.x products Upgrade with additional licensed iScala 2.2 products Maintenance of additional licensed iScala 2.2 products
9、Upgrade from SCS 1.6 to iScala2.2 Installation types for iScala 2.2 products share the following stages: Installing iScala 2.2 System on Server Installing iScala 2.2 Client on Workstation New Installation of iScala 2.2 Products 1 Install DBMS (DataBase Management System) on the server following the
10、documentation provided by the software vendor. 2 Run iScala 2.2 Installer and install the iScala 2.2 system on the server following the instructions described in the section Installing iScala 2.2 on Server. If you want to suppress the installation of MDAC 2.7, install iScala 2.2 using the following
11、command, run from the command line (all the parameters are case-sensitive): Msiexec /I iscala 2.2.msi NOMDAC=1 If you want to create the installation log, install iScala 2.2 using the following command: Msiexec /I iscala 2.2.msi /l*v c:scainstall.log1 Install iScala 2.2 Client from the Client folder
12、 following the instructions described in the section Installing iScala 2.2 Client on Workstation. 2 Run iScala 2.2 Administration Console to set up your Companies, Users, Financial Years, and other system administration-related objects and parameters. 3 Run iScala Windows Deployment Server, log on t
13、o iScala 2.2, and set up business-related parameters for your companies. Maintenance of Additional Licensed iScala 2.2 Products 1 Backup your entire iScala 2.2 system, including the system database, company database, program files, and language files. 2 Check DBMS (DataBase Management System) on the
14、 server following the documentation provided by the software vendor as well as the latest iScala 2.2 release documentation. If necessary, make a new DBMS (DataBase Management System) installation on the server. 1 Run iScala 2.2 Installer and upgrade your existing iScala installation with additional
15、licensed options, following the instructions described in the section Installing iScala 2.2 Upgrade when Adding, Repairing, or Removing Options. 2 Run iScala Windows Deployment Server and log on to iScala 2.2. The system is now ready for use. Upgrade with Additional Licensed iScala 2.2 Products To u
16、pgrade iScala products when modifying licensed options: Backup your entire iScala 2.2 system, including the system database, company database, program files, and language files. Check DBMS (DataBase Management System) on the server following the documentation provided by your software vendor as well
17、 as the latest iScala 2.2 release documentation. If necessary, make a new DBMS (DataBase Management System) installation on the server. Run iScala 2.2 Installer and upgrade your existing iScala 2.2 installation with any additional licensed options, following the instructions described in the section
18、. Installing iScala 2.2 Upgrade when Changing Options. Run iScala Windows Deployment Server and log on to iScala 2.2. The system is now ready for use. Upgrade from Previous Versions of iScala Products The upgrade procedure depends on whether you have any HotFixes installed on top of iScala 2.2. If n
19、o HotfFix has been installed: 1 Remove your previous iScala installation using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel under Windows Start Menu. 2 Perform a new installation of iScala 2.2 products as described in the section New Installation of iScala 2.2 Products. If a HotfFix has been installed:
20、Follow the upgrade instructions that can be found in iScala 2.2 Products SR1 Upgrade Instructions.doc. Upgrade from Previous Versions of Scala 5.x Products iScala 2.2 Database Converter only supports conversion of the Scala 5.1 Service Release 13 and Scala 5.1 Latina SR2 SQL database. For the comple
21、te list of Scala products that can be converted, see Converting Scala or iScala Database to iScala 2.2 Format. To upgrade a Scala 5.x SQL database made before Service Release 13, use the Scala 5.1 SR13 Database Converter supplied on the Scala 5.1 SR13 Application CD (This does not apply to Latina da
22、tabases). You cannot install iScala 2.2 Client on the same machine as Scala 5.1 Client. If you are upgrading from Scala 5.1 to iScala 2.x and have both 5.1 Server and Client on the same machine, you should: 1 Install 5.1 Client on a different machine, then 2 Install 2.x Server on the first machine;
23、(5.1 Client on the first machine is not usable any longer). 3 Use 2.x Server from the first machine and 5.1 Client from the second machine. If you are upgrading from Scala 5.1 to iScala 2.xand have 5.1 Server and 5.1 Client on different machines, 1 Install 2.x Server on the machine 5.1 Server is ins
24、talled on. 2 Use 2.x Server from the first machine and 5.1 Client from the second machine. 1 Backup your entire Scala 5.x system, including the SQL database, program and language files, and customised reports. 2 Check DBMS (DataBase Management System) on the server following the documentation provid
25、ed by the software vendor as well as the latest iScala 2.2 release documentation. If necessary, make a new DBMS (DataBase Management System) installation on the server. 1 Run iScala 2.2 Installer and install the iScala 2.2 system in a new folder, following the Installer Wizard instructions. In the S
26、cala System Database Setup window, you can enter connection parameters for a new or existing system database described in the section Installing iScala 2.2 on the Server. 2 Install iScala Client from the Client folder, following the instructions described in the section Installing iScala 2.2 Client
27、on Workstation. You cannot install iScala Client on the same workstation as iScala Server. 1 Convert your Scala 5.x database, following the instructions in the latest release documentation for iScala 2.2 Database Converter. 2 Run iScala Windows Deployment Server, and log on to iScala 2.2 to check co
28、nverted data and settings. Since the appearance of Scala 5.1 Service Release 13, numerous changes have been made to the DDF files. To use your own customised DDF-files, they should be adjusted in accordance with the latest requirements for Scala 5.1 Service Pack 14 Limited. The adjusted DDF-files ca
29、n then be automatically converted to the iScala 2.2 format using iScala DDF Converter, which is delivered with iScala 2.2. If you need to use your own reports, generated either by Seagate Crystal Reports or by any other external software, please check and adjust your reports to conform with the requ
30、irements detailed in the latest release documentation for iScala 2.2 products. Upgrade from SCS 1.6 to iScala 2.2 The actual time of upgrade depends on the number of processes and managers being used, and can vary significantly upon whether or not your system has been previously customised using XML
31、 Mapper and Workflow Designer. Ensure that the requirements defined for iScala 2.2 are met. For more details, see iScala Installation Guide/Pre-installation Requirements. If you are using existing Process Packages with configured Process schemas, make sure you store configuration settings for the fo
32、llowing elements of the process: Managers; Tasks; ScalaPoster managers; XSLT. These configuration settings can be useful in the further configuration of Process schemas in iScala. Store Listener properties. The number and name of Listener properties can vary depending on the Listener type. Install iScala Server. For more details, see Installing iScala 2.2 on the Server.
