Unfortunately, her dearest mother is dead before the day she comes back. She looks at Melanies letter secretly to get Ashleys news. During the war,

23、 she made a waistband for Ashley and asked him to take her away. After the war, Ashley cant adept to the postwar life and he cant to nothing but just lives in the dreams of the past. Scarlett didnt look down upon him and help him raise his family. In order to defend Ashleys self-respect as a man, sh

24、e undertakes the loss of money for her sawmill, which is given to her lover Ashley to manage.Scarlett loves Ashley because, of all the young men she flirts with, he is the one who seems to have the strength of character she admires. Ashley is well educated, intellectual, artistically and musically t

25、alented. He doesnt like other boys, who were always indulging themselves in gambling, party and such absurd things. Ashley is quiet, he loves poetry and music but he has win Scarletts father in gambling once. He doesnt like other boys, who were too willing to hang around waiting for Scarletts favors

As far as Im concerned, the reason why Scarlett falls in love with Ashley is that she sees him as a challenge. Scarlett is ver

Ashley doesnt dare to take adventure; he marries Melanie because she looks alike him. Melanie is gentle and soft, and she is

After Melanies death, she comes to her sen
